Welcome summoners the title says it all. Lately I been in a crossroads with league an I've been an jungle main for a while now. Things are taking a turning point and jungle isn't really giving me that trill it use to give. Its not that its hard or anything like that at all however the overall excitement has gone away. I've tried multiple champions in that role and have the same end result. Which brings me to this thread, I want to read whats your favorite role an why. You can also include your favorite champion in that role if you want to share that as well.

Thank you for reading & replying to my post.

You wanna know who's fun? Kayle. Why? Because nothing beats smacking n' whacking an enemy into oblivion. What role? All of 'em. You're kayle. Smack 'em

AP mid. I didn't actually play mages until after my first 1000-1500 games or so, LoL mages never looks that interesting. My fav role is AP though because I've just always liked mages in games and prefer to play them. I prefer to play a mage mid because that's just what I'm comfortable with and enjoy.

Personally like mid a lot recently, mainly Viktor and Katarina (yeah I know...).

I'm torn between Mid and Top. The solo lanes. I typically tank on top, but sometimes I'll go as a bruiser. And of course, I go AP mid. I understand the sudden influx of AD mid to counter the typical AP mid, but sometimes it's just laughable.

It's almost always either Zed or Yasuo and my main man Malzahar absolutely annihilates Yas and gives Zed an incredibly hard time.

Top and Mid are the two roles which I enjoy playing. I just like having the lane to myself so I'm the only person I need to worry about. My main champions I play in Top are Aatrox and Jayce. For Mid, I am currently maining Xerath.

Tank anywhere, I like causing as much frustration as possible through CC and the inability to kill me easily and sometimes 1v4 for a couple minutes until more teammates arrive is fun because then I stroll away and let my team clean up

I don't actually have a favorite, because I fill 90% of my games. I can play all lanes and roles, although I play some better than others. However it looks like you're looking for inspiration so I thought I'd share my two cents.

Top Lane I like Top Lane because its "The Island", as people call it. Its the most isolated. It is the most 1v1 lane you're going to get, because a single ward can usually cover your gank approach. Ganks are much harder to cover in mid lane, but in Top you can really duel. I tend to prefer those fights because I don't have to worry about a lanemate if I'm SoloQ. It can be hard to coordinate engages/disengages without a premade (I don't know how many times I tried to stun an enemy with Leona in order to save my ADC, when they take that as a cue to go all in)

I also enjoy Top Lane because I feel there is more variety there. I see tanky picks, damage picks, ranged, melee, the whole gamut. So I feel like I can fairly try out different champions in that lane easier than I can in any other.

Favorite Top Laners Quinn She has the right balance of burst damage and relative safety to compete with top lane picks. Shen Among my favorite tanks and easy to build against my opponent Singed Used to be my main top Yasuo I've actually taken this samurai top quite a lot recently and have really enjoyed it.

Mid Lane Like Top, Mid lane is a 1v1 lane but it tends to be.. messier, for lack of a better word. Kills in mid tend to snowball harder so those early mistakes can really set you up for a bad game. However of all the lanes, I tend to feel the most powerful in mid. Maybe its because the game usually settles in mid lane during the mid and late game phases, so I feel like its happening in "My" territory. I'm more aggressive in mid lane than any other lane, so if I really want to kill something I head to Mid.

Favorite Mid Champs Ezreal He's been my #1 Main since his release and I still enjoy running him mid now and then, both AD and AP builds Heimerdinger I'm not actually that great of a Heimer but he's fun and you have more room to play with your turrets in mid lane. Talon When I REALLY want to stab something Velkoz Or vaporize them.

Bot - ADC Where as the Mid laner tends to feel powerful in very short bursts, the ADC has the highest pentakill potential - you really feel like the game is in your shoulders in a tense match. Its also nice sometimes to have a Support who basically lives to serve you in the laning phase, but as I touched on before, its really hit and miss if you and your support "sync up". it also feels the most strategic since you are competing against two champions and likely ganks.

Favorite Bot ADCs Ezreal Like I said, I main him.

I like support. I started back in S2, really got into it in S3. It was the least popular role, but someone had to do it. Since I like helping people anyway, I figured I'd give it a go. Been a support main ever since. I also ADC on occasion. Recently, though, I've been trying to get good at top and jungle so I can be better rounded.

I have this problem where I continuously drift between Top, Mid, and Jungle. I like solo lanes because my performance is almost exclusively dependant on myself and not linked to a lane partner.

Usually I'll go after mid or jungle, but when I have some really good games and start playing even more aggressively than I do already in mid or jungle, I seem to draw a lot of attention from other lanes as well as the jungler, it gets kind of annoying, so I'll go Top lane and do the same kind of stuff there. Top has always been kind of it's own island and I rather enjoy that sometimes as there's little interference with my game until laning phase is over.

For mid I tend to play primarily assassins, I got quite good with pre-rework Fizz, LeBlanc, Kassadin, Talon, Zed, Yasuo, Katarina, and at one point Diana. That list has now dwindled primarily to LeBlanc, Talon, and Zed, who I think I'm now very strong with. I'll occasionally get a mage craving and run Viktor, Orianna, or Malzahar, but mostly assassins in my mid lane.

For Jungle I like mostly tanks, so the new jungle item made my day, I'll run Sejuani (nerfs incoming unfortunately), Volibear, Nautilus occasionally. I also came to very much like Nidalee jungle, not because it's OP necessarily, though that doesn't hurt, but because it's a different flavor than the rest. Rek'sai and Kha'zix are two others I enjoy now and again as well.

Top lane I play almost exclusively Riven, with the occasional Renekton thrown into the fold. Both just offer a lot of outplay potential, Riven I can comfortably 1v3 when ahead a little, Renekton I often turn a gank into a double kill, just a couple champions who discourage ganks from a jungler, and don't really even want ganks from their own jungler. Both also reward my aggressive playstyle.

I main support and picking up the jungler role. I like helping my team. God forbid my adc or the lanes feed, then it's always my fault. The typical, "GG Thresh missed a hook". My favorite " Gank my lane now," I can't gank when you're pushed against their tower and fed 3 kills before I have my first clear finished.

I just like trying to bring the team together for a win. Usually it's little reminders like "Remember to ward your lane", "farm safe", "focus the adc/ or the fed X champ". I'm surprised by how much these help.

Mat7itan3/24/2015, 2:35:07 PM1 votes

Mid because I like bursty champs and assassins. Also it is 0 retry easy to carry from mid because if I get ahead I can roam to either top or bot lane with no problem and really dictate the flow of the game.

Aww Kat3/24/2015, 2:49:57 PM1 votes

ADC, because my favorite champion is Jinx.Jinx I also love the feel of bot lane.

Jungle and Mid, I love to roam :)

I like the long range adc like Jinx/cait

mvargus3/24/2015, 4:04:19 PM1 votes

I tend to jokingly say that I'll play "Phil" during champ select. Honestly, I enjoy the game itself and depending on my mood can be happy just about anywhere as long as I'm on a champ I'm comfortable with.

But I'm also someone who hates doing the same thing all the time. I'm semi-mained jungle for the past month or so as the teamspeak group I hang with has very few good junglers and I was often asked to play there. I do it, but right now I want to play anywhere but jungle. I've been putting more effort into working on champs that can play top or mid in the hopes I can play there a bit more.

Sinister Snail3/24/2015, 4:10:28 PM1 votes

Vel'koz mid main 100%. He's the champ that got me back into league: something about his kit just clicks perfectly with my play style. The long range and high base damages let me play really safe in a bad lane match up, and just farm hard for mid game.

Utility mage. So... Morgana Lux Karma Zyra Orianna

Also, auto-attack mages/Lich Baners. Not sure why, but there's something so satisfying about "next attack will hit for 800 damage"... TwistedFate Viktor Lux Ezreal

ADC, because I like to go pew pew.
