Did ranked get easier

I've been in bronze the whole time i've played league, but ever since the new season came out, I've been climbing like crazy. I'm in Silver 4 now. Did ranked get easier? Did riot make more slots open at the higher ranks, or did I just get good when the new patch came out?

Someone please tell me whats going on.

It's preseason, lots of the more serious people probably stopped playing ranked while they experiment with the new masteries and other changes, and will jump back in once season 6 starts for real.

Preseason has always been an iffy time to play ranked. Balance is always out of wack, some people use this to their advantage to climb easier.

Well, the boosted kids are falling now that season is over. I swear I see more people with silver level mechanics and bronze strategy in high plat/low diamond games.

Since everything got shaken up nobody has any idea what the fuck their doing. The most popular build on Corki for ranks plat and up includes a Last Whisper, and Corki averages 75% magic damage when going full AD.

Been curious about this myself, climbing from gold V to gold IV took almost no effort, don't know if I am just getting less toxic team mates finally or if something else is going on.

Well it's preseason so a lot of people are bringing in the champs they have been learning in norms to ranked now to get comfortable with xD at least thats what im doing

I, as well as a lot of people tend to switch to normal draft mode during the preseason because any climbing you do in preseason is going to be reset.

There is often a surge of bad players towards the start of the season and the end of the season, as people are curious to see what rank they'll get and then panic last minute to get to Gold. The in between times are actually quite peaceful for the most part.

I don't really understand. If all the good people are waiting for the season to start, doesn't that mean your team has bad people too? How does ranked get easier lol. No matter what happens 50% of games are lost and 50% of games are won.

Well way less people are playing ranked in the pre-season, but I would assume the ones that are playing ranked are more hardcore than people like me that switched to normals temporarily.

Most likely what happened is that you just adapted to the meta shift better than others in your elo. A lot changed with the warding changes, new materies, reworks, minion changes, etc. Strategies that players who were beating you were exploiting last season may not work anymore, or maybe you found a good strategy/champion pick that is strong this patch.

Well they did make it forgiving to lose promos while ranking up.

I went on a 16 game winstreak this week. It was definitely feeling that way for me for a few days. Then I got a rager or two and haven't played in a couple of days.
