@Riot Can someone explain the reasoning behind the slow changes? (I am not mad, just want knowledge)

Patch 5.13 Notes

I'm confused by the the slow changes. Can someone explain the reasoning behind this change to me? I accept that the fact that they are getting changed, but I want to know some of the complex thinking behind this new change, more than the little blurb on the patch notes.

I think they stated in the post that it's to encourage synchronization in the team and chaining your CC together instead of dumping it all on one champion and essentially rooting him, thus making the lives of champions like Udyr a living hell.

Like the first guy said, it's to encourage teams to be more strategic about using slowing abilities because many will stack a ton of slows onto on champ (ex: Ashe passive+Rylai's slow+Janna's W+exhaust+smite slow) and it becomes like walking through Thresh's ult, with like a 99% slowed ms which is extremely unfair. They made it so if something like that happens, the strongest slow will take over and all others are just nullified. This also makes it so no one will take advantage of stacked slows and make up broken chain cc team comps, like how laners have taken advantage of the runeglaive made for junglers. It's just to keep things balanced I guess :/

in addition to what others have said, Mellder pointed out how the old system mostly hurt imobile champs and they hope this will help them out. without needing to nerf the mobile ones,
