How do placements work??

So I end preseason at silver 3 40 lp or so, and when the season actually ended i was silver 2 75lp. I do my ranked placements today and go 8-2 with 6 of the wins being graves with a total average of 12.2/2.8/8.6, hard carried every single one of those games. And I get placed in bronze 2? how the hell does that make sense. I was in gold placements like 3 weeks ago... and now im in bronze..
