mADCs: an unsuccessful concept or can we make it work?

Melee carries (for reference I consider Yasuo Tryndamere MasterYi Gangplank Fiora mADCs) in this game get two titles: The best or the worst. You don't have to look hard to find a QQ thread or a plea for buffs about them depending on the champ, and we will we ever see these guys at a high end competitive level (Gangplank did get picked once at worlds in season 1, banned once in season 2, and Tryndamere was picked once in season 3). Should we give up on the concept? Yasuo perhaps came the closest to the idea the concept shot for, but will any of them ever hit the mark? Should they all be reworked into Assassins, Bruisers, and AD casters or can we make it work?

There's nothing wrong with a subset of snowballing champions. All of them have very fun, unique kits that add diversity to the game. They're not much use when they're not fed, but what AD Carry is?

As a MasterYi main I don't think he needs to be reworked. With the speed burst from Highlander, and any possible speed boosts from item 3142 or even just static (or should I say item 3087 ((Sorry for the pun)), speed boosts from items like, well, item 3087 he's easily able to close the gap, meditate he can sustain in lane or jungle, devourer gives him item 3160 -esque stacking and attack speed. However, he does have assassin-like qualities because of his Q being a gap closer and the fact he usually builds item 3153 . However, I don't want to call him an assassin because assassins 100-0 people quickly, and riot says, "we don't like assassins 100-0 to people so lets nerf. (And since he isn't AP any more he really can't 100-0 people with 1 Q ((Melee strikes on the other hand yes, but that's besides the point)). At least when he ultis you can item 3157 then summoner 4 to waste his duration

On topic or just speaking about ADC in general, we need to do something like in dota tbh. Ranged will always have the advantage over melee (in the current state of "balance") because well, no turn rates and that they can poke in lane without minion aggro, they can kite indefinitely and sustain/harass much better.

Plus since he's usually played as a jungling he isn't suspected to be ganker while missing)
