Quinn's original concept?

Ok, so I wasn't playing League when Quinn was released, but doing some research it seems as if she was meant to be a melee assassin (based off her concept art). Am i right, and if so when and why was she changed to an adc?

I don't know for sure what RIOT's thought process was when they created her, but being as I WAS around before and after they released her I can say that they didn't give a lot of information to the players. One of the RIOTers actually stated that she was kinda rushed in the design process (I believe the input was from Ironstylus, though I could be way off there). This also explains why her models were less developed than her immediate predecessor and her immediate successor.

IIRC she was originally meant to be a top laner, or at least that's what they thought she would likely be played as. Due to the fact that she is a ranged champion with high mobility, stickiness, vision, and an escape (kinda) she fits the type for top lane. The players decided she would be an adc because well, she is ranged AD scaling champion. I still play her top for the above reasons but everyone still has their opinion that she is supposed to lane with a support. As far as being a melee assassin, I don't think that was intended as her role but I could be wrong, I just know what I saw at the time of release and since.

ADC or top but the common role for her is ADC now though the common role for her on release was top as far as I remember as she's kinda tankier than some other ADC s like say Vayne for example and yet having some mobility and nice map awareness skills and not to mention how she can counter like 75% of top champions since most of them are melee but tbh I like her ADC more since she kinda rules the lane.Hell I even saw some people jungling with her lol.I guess her concept might have been a Nidalee like champion transforming using ult hence getting longer combo than usual champions but yet it's an AD based champion unlike Nidalee who's more AP and hybrid and the concept as I get from the story is a ranger champion cooperating with a bird so I guess its a hybrid assassin like Nidalee may be but tends to be ADC more than Nidalee.Atm in the information on Quinn, you'll find riot set her primary role as marksman and secondary as fighter and I guess that's how it has always been if memory serves me right.
