(tldr: if someone wants to learn some silly pick in norms, let them god damnit)

There once was a man, we'll call him... Tim. Tim was pretty garbage at this computer game they call 'League of Legends'. Tim had been stuck in low Gold for a while, and was getting bored of it all. Game after game of just... not being good enough. He had stopped enjoying champions he had once loved, such as Sejuani (mostly due to the recent rework) and Gragas, and was thinking of ending it all.

Uninstall.

The word passed through his mind many a time, but day after day, he kept with it. Dropping out of ranked due to the high-pressure environment he felt existed there, he began only playing normal draft matches, in an attempt to both learn new champions for ranked and have fun doing so. One new pick after the next. Viktor top. Anivia support. Twisted Fate, AD in the jungle. Orianna in the jungle. Off-meta picks and their creation consumed this man's designated League hours for many a bored summer day.

Then, one day, while Tim was browsing r/leagueoflegends, as he often did, he decided to do something he had never done before; check the "controversial" section.

There was a post near the top at 0 votes. Checking it out, Tim found that it linked to a Voyboy stream highlight where he was playing Tristana mid.

Tim exclaimed, "THAT'S IT!" and launched League as fast as his potato for a computer would let him. He joins a normal draft game, as he always does, queue-ing up as mid/top. Obtaining the coveted Mid role, he hovered Tristana and asked if everyone was okay with that, and if the top laner or jungler could bring some magic damage to the team to compensate for an AD mid. The top laner locked in Vladimir, so Tim felt confident in his team composition, and was excited to play Tristana, one of his favorite AD Carries, in the Mid lane.

He laned against an Orianna, and at level 2, he saw his chance. His opponent had used both her Q and W on the minions. Tim took the opportunity to jump onto his enemy and throw a bomb on her head, crushing the trade but not quite killing her. Full health to 30% for a tiny mistake at level 2.

"This... this could be good," Tim said. Tim ended up losing the game for a myriad of reasons, but he was excited to continue playing his new, powerful pick.

Later that day, he queue'd up again. Obtaining Mid, he hovered Tristana and asked if it was okay to play it. One guy said he was fine with it, and the others said nothing. Assuming it was okay, Tim banned Ahri as he always does because she's an annoying shit. He then tabbed out to continue playing his favorite game on an emulator, knowing that he was last pick and that he could afford to wait a bit.

"Let me get in there."

Tim heard this, tabbed back into League, and despaired. His beloved Tristana, struck through and banished to the depths of the top-left corner of champ select. His pick had been banned, by his support teammate, no less.

"play a good mid lol"

Tim was sad.
