Zyra Mid-season Passive, Q, and Plant Discussion

Passive: Very similar to Illaoi's. Not for or against it really.

Q: Skillshot shape changed. Is not similar to Malz's Q.

Scaling from 70 / 105 / 140 / 175 / 210 (+ 65% AP) to 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+ 55% AP).

Plants:

Plants last for 5s instead of 10s, you can place 8 seed instead of 4 and seeds now last 45s on the ground instead of 30s. Plant health scales when leveling W (not sure if they last longer).

Discussion:

What are your thoughts on these changes?

I personally do not like how much they nerfed her Q and the duration of her plants. Sure she has more, but they also do decreased damage when attacking the same target. It's definitely not as reliable.

Her seeds will often give away her position. This also makes surprise bush ganks harder to pull off since the enemies will be tipped off due to random seed placements.

I will of course have to play it myself and am willing to concede these opinions, but overall I don't think she will feel like the same champion to me.

I don't like the shorter lived plants. IMO they already die too fast as it is. Dunno how I feel about the new passive. The old one had to go, but I'm not sold on the new one, particularly how random they are placed. It's nice in theory, but in practice they'll never sprout where you need them to.

The worst change in my opinion is the removal of seed vision. That's a huge nerf considering how squishy and immobile zyra is. She's incredibly dependent on seeds to keep from getting jumped on. +15 move speed isn't an adequate compensation for that kind of nerf to her situational awareness. There's also a pretty serious concern with plants spawning from her passive pushing the lane. With seeds popping up all around her and the increased activation range on her abilities, you're going to be making a lot of accidental plants. Mid zyra really doesn't want to push lane excessively due to being so squishy, immobile, and now blind to boot, and support zyra's going to be pissing off a lot of adc's by taking cs, pushing, and even giving the enemy adc more potential gold. Riot siphoned a lot of power from the rest of her kit to account for her new passive, but I don't think they really accounted for a lot of these use cases.
