I'm fine with them. I personally didn't notice any major differences other than they are much more convenient then the rune/mastery system. The hate you see is the same hate after any update. Like I actually give two shits about anything negative the gamer might say when they have absolutely not one damn thing to do with RIOT other than playing their game.
New change is good but need to rebalance...
Mostly Yellow.... Red and Purple are little strong.
Cyan one is so stupid therefore need to be removing.
I love the changes, best state of runes+masteries. Only thing is they gotta tune some stuff.
I can't comment on BE complaints cause I havn't been feeling like I have any form of shortage, although I refused to opt into buying the BE dump items. (I personally wish those items permanently stayed in the store so that there was never a shortage of items to buy even though I'm not buying them right now).
Talon top gets 2 kills, 2 levels ahead of everyone else, jumps over a wall bot lane picks up 2 more kills, roams kills the jungler a couple hundred times gg ff at 15
Zed mid gets a kill at level 6, ofc, roams bot lane, at level 8, picks up a double kill because towers do nothing, 3 levels ahead of your support, one shots whoever he wants gg ff at 15
Wukong mid/top gets a kill at level 6, roams bot lane at level 8, gets a double kill because towers don't do anything, he's 3 levels ahead of of everyone, gg ff at 15
Hec gets his jungle item + mobis, charges into bot lane 1 shots the support with E, roams mid lane to pick up another kill, gets rift herald, 5 man push mid inner turret gone at 16 minutes gg ff at 15
Ezreal spam Qs on you, misses half of them, doesn't matter he's an item ahead of you gg ff at 15
Sona level 2 takes 70% of your hp with Q auto, question mark ping, sona now has lichbane, gg ff at 15
Support zyra gets guise + frostfang, 1 shots every non tank, gg ff at 15
etc etc etc
pretty boring tbh. Games are decided way too early, runes already pretty homogenized, everything is cancer in laning phase, towers don't do anything. 3/5 roles are filled with assassin/snowball champs, It's pretty meh
If you think it was "a step in the right direction", then might I recommend you give battlerite a try.
Much more akin to what you seem to want to turn this game into... for some reason when they're already a product which offers you such an experience.
They are nice but i feel like some champion don't have runes that fit them or are useful for them. Dot Mage come to mind, Tank that like shield, mage runes are pretty lame right now overall, since most take Aery because comet is unreliable.. they could add more keystone per section and make it 4 per runes section.
