If Yuumi may start with a point in her W, why doesn't Azir?

This is something that's bugging me for a while now. They are in the same boat here, as both their other basic abilities rely on their W's respectively. Couldn't you just give him an additional rank in his Q to make up for the free point, much like the case with Yuumi?

Just my two cents on that matter..

cause azirs early lane is opressive enough already, his W alone allows him to zone most opponents at lvl 1

Because Azir has been gutted because high ELO and proplay

Because Yuumi needs that point in order for her other abilities to work. Otherwise, she would just have a linear low range Q, a self heal, or even just be attached to you doing nothing besides hopping off and getting a shield, until you hit lvl 2.

Azir on the other hand already has a bunch of power in summoning his soldiers. They're used for zoning and essentially increasing his attack range. If he was like Yuumi, he could then just summon a soldier, poke a bit and then slide that soldier for damage and continue the poke. It wouldn't work.

Because Azir is easily oppressive.

Azir having w and q level 1 is pretty op though

Honestly I feel this way about Zyra w.

Because that would actually make Azir viable (in lower elos) :P

Yuumi's other abilities are affected by her W, and her W doesn't really do anything by itself.

Azir's W is affected by his other abilities, and can be used to zone and waveclear at level 1.
