Still No Leaver Compensation
I have been playing League Of Legends since season 1 and have been enjoying it... mostly. Im sure many people have heard the old question of "if you got 3 questions when you died what would they be?" Well I am pretty sure most of mine would be about League. Mainly I would just like to know what percentage of my games had at least one leaver/afkers in it and I assume it would be at least 5-10% considering every other game seems to have one on the lower level "smurf" accounts. Late last year Rito introduced a new leaver buster system implying it would "punish" players who often leave/afk with a longer queue............. Is that uh.... it? Whether a player DCs or intentionally leaves, it's still a ruined experience for 4 to 9 other players in the game. Although it isn't the player's "fault" when they unintentionally DC, it's even more unfair to penalize up to 9 players per game while a player figures out their connection issues.
If you DC from the game because of League of Legends server stability, Leaverbuster won't affect you and won't count those games. If you DC from a game because of your ISP or hardware, please fix your connection first before playing more games.
Riot Lyte realizes that having a leaver in your match "penalizes up to 9 players per game." But even with at least Riot Lyte realizing it but hopefully most of Riot employees realize that leavers ruin matches for everyone. No one wants to go into a duo bot lane and have your adc DC and you get bullied out of the lane as a melee champ vs a Vayne & Soraka combo. I am sure I'm not the only one who has had a leaver on their team and your opponents milk the match for kills just to make you even more upset about the match. I understand getting more kills "makes the match more fun" but do you have fun when players do that to you? I sure dont.
Even with stuff like this happening every day Riot Games still refuses to give us some actual compensation for having a leaver ruin a game for us. I am talking even ONE BONUS IP of compensation and I would be like "Okay Riot is at least acknowledging and helping with the large amount of leavers other than "longer queues"" Riot Lyte even says "it's even more unfair to penalize up to 9 players per game" We are being punished for something and getting nothing in return for it except more leavers in possibly the next match. I don't want to hear any of this "but players will abuse the leaver bonus" because I see no way it could be abused. "Oh man I think I should leave this match, give up my 40-100 IP and risk being banned just so you can get 1-10 bonus IP." If anyone really thinks that is an abuse-able system the obviously haven't thought about it.
I just cannot see why it's so difficult for Rito to do something like this. You realize having a leaver SUCKS very much and yet you do nothing but implement a punishment system, no compensation which is what really makes a difference in my opinion.
tl;dr I would love it if Riot Games could just give 1-10 bonus IP to players who have a leaver on their team and actually lose the match. Why is this so much to ask for?
