Riot is so disconnected from how the game actually plays its comical

The fact that the comments section in every social media riot posts to is full of people raging about balance, bugs and other issues proves conscious ignorance. Or maybe they do just know, seeing the pitchfork masses and just don't care. In any case they're definitely proving their incompetence at their jobs right now. Surely seeing so many people getting madder and madder at them can't be a good feeling right?

The fact that they disabled comments on patch notes should tell you something.

Can you show me even one constantly updating game that doesn't have people complaining about it in en masse on social medias?

You do know that people are more likely to voice how much they don't like something than it is for them to say how much they like something? This isn't unique to league either. This is the same in every single thing in existence. You are more likely to find people bitching and whining about literally everything on the planet than people being grateful about stuff. The only time you will see people being grateful and talking about the positives are when charities and people doing incredibly good things are involved.

People are so fickle and so quick to change their mind that it is literally pointless to argue with anybody over the internet. Why should riot or anyone for that matter argue with some random person that they don't even know over the internet? Chances are this random person has zero interest in changing their opinion or having meaningful discussion and just rather circlejerk and hate on stuff because "it's the cool thing to do" or some other nonsense. Just say your piece and if that leads to good meaningful discussion then awesome if it doesn't? Stop and move on.

People have been saying that "league is dying" and "this is the worst season EVAR!" since season 2 at the bare minimum. The game is still in season 10 and still breaking records every single season. People are constantly whining and bitching about every single little. Never satisfied. It gets really tiring hiring the exact same baseless nonsensical garbage every single season. If it lead to some actual good and meaningful discussion it would be one thing but it literally just devolve into a "you don't agree with me? I refuse to even acknowledge what you are saying"

I don't think its a disconnect as much as a change of direction which players tend not to like with not disclosing their purpose. What I mean by this is seasons 1 to 7 (pretty sure its season 7) were more ~45 minute average game time and we are currently down to less than 30 min average game time. This is the problem because they never officially said their intentions to make the game shorter. They just did it. All they say is this patch is to balance the game or off season changes to keep the game fresh. They lack the overall direction communication of what they want the game to be is what is causing this disconnect. We know from experience that the shorter the games are less tactical and more of a team death match. You can see this in current pro play because teams are very much afraid to fight each other due to how fast people are dying. Look at one of the first games of the season TSM vs Immortals at 60 minutes they had 17 kills total between the two teams.
