Towers too useless? (also bugs??)

I feel like these games have gotten much, much quicker in the past day. Then again it's the start of the preseason so unless I play a bunch this week, cannot know for sure right? Anyway it seems like split pushing is quite scary. Sure the towers have more health yet any high AD or lichbane based AP will still take any tier almost too easily. Because of the change to summoner 12 it makes it much riskier to want to teleport to help the team. At this point trading any tower for dragon is questionable. Maybe some armor should be a thing??

On to the "bugs" I noticed: -towers seem to flicker their armor (mostly tier 1) when minions are around -red buff burns them, I don't remember this being intentional -nexus towers take extra damage, for example Leblanc auto attacks hitting for 450 with out any AD items.

Towers are there to be defended... AP champions hit for a portion of their AP the enemy structures, so you can afford not to have a ranged AD champion - this was in the last season...
