Yorick and Spellthief's Edge Interaction

Currently, Yorick's ghouls only proc the spellthief's edge passive on the initial cast of the ghoul on an enemy, but shouldn't the ghouls proc the passive every time they auto an enemy too, like Zyra's plants? This would be a nice buff for all of those Yorick support mains.
