Watch the video closely, with the slow motion. Talon actually instantly cancel his stealth by casting ignite on Master Yi.

yep thats what happened, he ignited and canceled his stealth. other possibility is that attack we seeing is yi passive double strike going off as talon stealth.

its not the ignite, and you can easily see him auto once without alpha strike, meditate, auto+alpha strike while he is stealth

He cancelled his stealth immediately when it was activated.

Talon landed an AA on Yi, just probably animation-cancelled due to the panic-Ignite-ulti-getup, as the blades flew to Yi instead, which only happens if Talon has either Q'ed or AA'ed Yi.

So, this case is a pretty closed one, Talon accidentally cancelled his stealth as soon as he ulti'ed.

you can see it, in slowmo, on the left skills being used, ignite is used before ult and you can easily see it so it wasn't both at the same time.

Automated Riven4 votes

its not ignite. Check the slow mo video. watch the cooldowns. Ignite gets cast first.

Did the Yi have Skirmisher's?

skirmishers does not reveal invisbility, in fact nothing does(or should..), all red smite does is show people if they go into fog of war

AlienPrimate6 votes

True sight is exactly that. As long as you have true sight on an enemy, they can't hide. This includes all forms of stealth, bushes, and fog of war. It doesn't reveal a stealthed enemy. It makes it so an enemy can't enter stealth against the person who used smite on them.

sorry to say but as a jungle main, ever since red smite has been out, never has a shaco been unable to just Q away, or an akali unable to shroud because i red smited, and believe me i actually thought you could, it is NOT supposed to reveal invisible champions.

AlienPrimate9 votes

So you are correct. I just looked it up on the wiki and saw this in the change log.

BUG FIX: No longer incorrectly states that it grants vision of stealthed champions.

I don't know how that happened then.

Zielmann1 votes

Funny that the wiki had that listed in the change log, but the tooltip description on the wiki still says it has true sight. That's where I got it mixed up (and I knew it did at one time).

AlienPrimate6 votes

After a little more research, my guess is that the change to summoner spells last patch bugged them with stealth. Under details for Talon's ult it says

Stealth is not removed if Talon uses an item or summoner spell without an associated animation.

The last patch added animations to all summoner spells so people can see who is using what spell.

this is true and i would see it as a reason, doe if you look at the slomo gif you can see he ignites before he ults, doe it can still be the reason but i wouldn't make it concrete

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

There might be an inconsistency since the divide between camouflage and stealth.

It does.

It says this "Challenging Smite: ... while marked, the target is revealed, your basic attack..."

But that's on the forum item set section. On the lolwiki it would seems it has been removed.

Maybe it hasn't actually been in the game, mechanically-wise, who knows.

Did the Yi have Skirmisher's?

It doesn't reveal ever since the invisibility update a while back.

Tworie3 votes

Yeah, I've had problems with being killed when I'm supposed to be invisible, too. This definitely needs to be looked into. Also, Yi is bullshit. His true damage needs to get nerfed.

Eedat3 votes

Challenging Smite can be cast on enemy champions, revealing them for 4 seconds

Fawksea1 votes

it's never worked on stopping people like shaco and akali from just going invisible before, and i've tried, i looked up red smite's history before making this post, nothing changed.

There was a bug a few patches ago where if Yi issued his attack before the stealth he would continue to attack them after stealth, but I'm sure they fixed it...
Thanks for reporting it and for the clear video. Hopefully someone looks into it; maybe the bug is back.

Thing is, i also assumed that, til my friend told me he meditated and autod him, which i had to go see in a replay and there it is, if he clicked on them and kept autoing i would understand the bug, but he MEDITATED, and autod, meaning he could clearly see him and could click him for an auto which is the confusing part

LostFr0st1 votes

That's good info, maybe the meditate auto reset special case has something to do with it.

EndlessSorcerer2 votes

I suppose those goggles are useful for something after all.

Steelflame2 votes

You can see that he doesn't have the stealth animation.

This looks to be because he launched an auto as he pressed R, instantly breaking the stealth (His ult has a minimum time before it can return, period. Stealth doesn't have such a limit before it can be broken).

This is supported by how much Yi's health bar dropped, as that was far more than the loss of a single part of Talon's R.

Talon fucked up, no bug in this clip.

PROJECT Katarìna2 votes

Looks like to me you accidently autoed him as your ulti is going out causing your invisibility to cancel as you were pathing downwards

yeah the wiki says that, the actually league page does not, as someone posted it was a tooltip bug, also dont always trust the wiki, it still has ww's old abilities as previews for his new ones

Maybe Talon autoed Yi? Yi has less health after he exists alpha strike, after Talon ults. Plus, he was right on top of him, so when Talon ignited Yi, he may have autoed him as well. Maybe?

he autod before he ulted, if he did auto after he ulted and revealed himself then the blades from his ult would come back, which they didn't, they acted as if he was still invisible.

SEKAI1 votes

It would seem Talon accidentally AA'ed Yi, if Ignite doesn't do it already (though can't see the AA animation even on slow-mo, maybe animation-cancelled).

The evidence is that the flying blades eventually all converged onto Yi rather than Talon, it only happened because Talon had broken his stealth and AA'ed Yi.

From the description of Shadow Assault:

When Talon emerges from invisibility, the blades converge to his location, dealing the same physical damage to all enemies they pass through. Breaking invisibility with a basic attack or Noxian Diplomacy causes the blades to converge to his target instead.

So yeah. I think the case's closed.

Talon ignited Yi - wouldn't this break the invisibility? Also Talon ulted and autoattacked at the same time, probably auto attack finished later because of animation.

if talon auto finnishes after he ults then the blades retract to the target that you auto attacked. also talon ignited before he ulted.

ignite shouldn't take away stealth as stated in the tooltime, plus he uses it bEFORE he ults, and the auto might be it but it still doesnt instantly converge the blades in as if he broke stealth

XxxLumberJackxxX1 votes

To had a lot of attack speed there and used the w aa reset. He probably ordered the aa befits stealth and the as is so fast that the dmg locks before animation completes

Tristanl0l1 votes

Talon tried to E the wall cancelling his ult and failing the E because it glitched backwards.

at least that's what the animation looks like

Automated Riven2 votes

if talon breaks stealth his blades retract.

Steelflame2 votes

There is a hard lock of time before the blades retract.

This wasn't the case pre-rework, but they did it to add delay to his burst combo.

Arsenic Sulfur1 votes

Okay yeah some spaghetti code happened. If Yi auto'd him once in stealth that'd be fine as I don't think auto-attacks are cancelled if the target is out of vision.

General Esdeath 1 votes

It's possible Yi double striked at the moment Talon went invisible, damaging him (as his autos can't miss unless blinded) and damaging him, not sure how he was able to get the 2nd one off unless he used red smite.

1.)Yi "Q" => Auto atack 2.)Talon ULT 3.)Yi Proces all bonus damage in pasiv and items and for DESERT "Ravenous Hydra" (All Yi must have it) => Solved your problem with stelf. Just look all items on Yi and Pasive tree and you will find solution how you died without Armour and Skill ready to kill Yi after he jumped on you.
