The reasons why I hate Dynamic queue.

So firstly I'd like to start off by saying that the new queue experience is great. I love that I can pick my roles and then never have to play top/adc/support again. Now with that being said, Dynamic Queue is not perfect, actually, it's pretty far from it. So today I will explain and give my reasons for why Dynamic Queue is not the optimal ranked experience for League of Legends.

So let's get into the major problems with Dynamic Queue, the first of which is Queue times for high elo players. Some players have been experiencing queue times up to or above thirty minutes. This is completely unacceptable, it's also not fair that master tier/challenger tier players will get matched against plat players. I've seen this happen to Qtpie on his stream and there was even a reddit post about this. I don't know what kind of ranked environment matches master tier players against high plats, but that needs to be fixed.

Next I would like to talk about people gaming the system to gain elo. So currently, let's say your a gold player and you want to climb fast, the best way to do it is to play with your low tier bronze friends. The reason is because the system will try to match get you into a game where everyone has similar mmr. So the gold player will then be matched against much lower tier players. This is a huge problem for both parties because the game will probably end up being a one sides stop if the gold player is actually good. On top of this the bronze players that he plays with won't learn anything. They will essentially be carried to higher elos without actually be skilled enough to play in those elos. I've got some friends who do this and in my honest opinion this sickens me. I cannot believe that there is such a way to game the system to gain elo. Before dynamic queue this wasn't much of a problem, but it becomes more and more of a problem the more people you play with in ranked, because if that gold player can issue commands to is friends then he has a much higher chance of winning the game than the group of five randoms on the enemy team.

The next issue i'd like to bring up is on five man premades getting matched against non five man premades. This situation NEVER under any circumstances should happen. I don't care if you say it's five percent, two percent or what ever number you want to give us. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN EVER! As soon as any five man premade is matched against a non 5 man premade you have basically killed ranked and made it a system where rank doesn't matter. There was a five man ranked queue for a reason Riot. Five mans are especially a problem in challenger elo. I've seen some challenger players wait in a thirty minute queue just to get matched against an LCS team and then get stomped. How is that a fair ranked environment Riot? Do you honestly think that this is a good idea to keep in the game? Because If you keep Dynamic queue in this game then that's what your basically telling us.

My final point i'd like to address is fill being the second support button. People want to fill riot, they don't want to play support all the time, so just fix it. I believe Riot said they were working on it, but I'm not believing anything until I see it hit live.

Now, I'll take all of these points back and fully support Dynamic queue if the following happens:

  1. Make is so no five man team can be matched against a non five man team and have a separate ranked ladder for five mans. 2)They're able to fix people abusing the system where higher elo players play with their lower elo friends to gain elo. I highly doubt this can happen in Dynamic queue. They have fixed this issue in 6.7 for high plat and up, but this needs to be fixed for all elos. I do not want players playing in an elo they don't deserve. 3)You shorten Queue times for highest tiers of play.
  2. Fix the fill button.

TL:DR Dynamic queue currently is bad. Please implement Solo queue and then remove Dynamic Queue or fix Dynamic queue.

EDIT: Posted this on Reddit, here is the link if you wish to support my argument.

To your first point. If que timers were bad to begin with, how would adding a second que help that? It'd further divide the player base, resulting in even longer que times.

Your second point. That's always happened, and always will. Dynamic que wasn't the start of this, nor did it change anything. With regards to people playing in an MMR they don't deserve, it's still the same. Last season and this, I will find some of the worst players and question how they got there. They found a way before, and they found a way now. Again. This isn't a dynamic que problem.

Third point. 5 man ques. Absolutely suck when you're against TSM. Seems like a fun match, but a rough one. I believe, 2% chance? And with probably 200-300+ games, I haven't been matched up against a single 5man premade. I will agree with this point, just since I enjoyed ranked 5s before, and I'm kind of sad they removed that feature.

Fourth. People don't like to support. Surprising.

Role pick is not dynamic.

Dynamic is just a enchanted normal, not a competitive mode.
