I quit league/what it would take for me to get back into it.
I quit league a couple of months ago. I am glad I did. The game within itself is very nuanced and fun. However, there are too many people who intentionally throw games and/or people who don't/won't work together. When you have four people on your team that actually want to win, the game is a lot of fun. When you have have three people and a special snowflake that only wants to do what they want to do, then the game is extremely frustrating. The ranked system is what truely made me leave. I got into mid silver and seemed to be unstoppable in flex q. Then the community started treated flex like norms. I constantly heard "its only flex". No one took it seriously enough to even try to win the game. Progression is tied too much to MMR, which measures if you win or not. It is a poor proxy measurement of skill/performance. I played a lot of jungle/support. I rarely played carry champions. The devs always say that league is a game of choice but if you play certain types of champions your progess will slow or stop all together.
I highly doubt I will come back to this game, but there are a few things that change my mind. First, it would be better measures of performance that would dictate your progression in in the game. Some credit of your accomplishments in the game that can't be taken away shifts in mentality of the community. Better promotion of teamwork behavior and punishment of feeders/throwers.
