Hi, I'm a Zilean main, and I don't understand why you guys don't want me to support.

So, I mained Zilean all of last season as support, and though it was a tough ride and I did not get diamond like i aimed to get, I never got discouraged because I knew I could get better. Zilean had potential as a support and I was gonna practice my way to it. And for the most part I did, sure I had bad games, but I also had amazing games.

Now the new season comes around, and I wonder what new fun masteries I could use to up my Zilean game. Everyone seems to have gotten something fun. The ADC's got more crit related works, the single target mages got some burst, the shield and heal supports got buffs too!. Even tanks and tank supports got buffs!. So I keep reading...

Why do you guys hate Zilean?

You have given me not a single mastery I can use out of the all of the 9 options. Like am I supposed to go tank Zilean support now, and lose out on every other talent? Am I supposed to go ad?! I don't know. You don't let AoE's do as much as other moves so I am shit out of luck there. Maybe I thought, maybe I can use the triple strike aoe talent. But common. I would have to burn 3 moves, without missing, and an auto attack to do minimal outcome damage. Compared to any other support that is just not doable. And even if it is, this is my only option.

And if that's not all, you go even further to nerf the mana masteries and remove mana pots from the game. Then you take green wards out and force me to rush a sightstone, leaving me tearless and oom. I don't understand.

Why does soraka and janna get huge buffs when they already were super strong? Why does kench braum and all the other tank supports get buffed when they were already super strong? Why does the weak decrepit Zilean get kicked down more and more?

I'm left with one option, take my favorite champ away from my favorite role of support and try him out mid. Maybe the Yasuos and proper burst mages will have pity on me and let me walk away with only 15 deaths.

Because Zilean doesn't make #LBSBigPlays, no shit. He doesn't have a button to hand out free kills to dummy teammates. Also the same reason people never picked Lulu botlane anymore. Why pick mage shits when tank shits can do the same, but "better"? Who cares about cockblocking peels, we're still here for the flashy dashy engages that makes even more #LCSBigPlays!!!!!!!!!!

On a side note, there's only very few mastery options for mages in the first place, compared to that of ADs. In fact, I actually don't know what keystone I should get for Lulu solo, because everything else other than Windspeaker's just doesn't make sense for Lulu in general. Just telling you it's a bit limited when it comes to mastery choices for (non-burst) mages in general.

That reminds me, with 500+ Zilean ranked games, how did playing him post-rework go? Zilean mains are so hard to find nowadays, and this looks like a good place to ask you questions.
