Need someone from Riot to say something about wolf spirit "exploit"

So for those of you who don't know there is currently a trick you can do by smiting the wolf past the mid point of mid lane and it causes the wolf spirit to go into the enemy jungle and it will spot them. However I heard that you could use this without getting banned, but what I need to know is this intended, because if it is then I sincerely hope that you decide to remove this from the game because this is extremely game breaking for junglers. The amount of information that this exploit can give can really break some junglers and will make early junglers like Elise/Kindred even more powerful. I need to know now whether or not this is staying in the game because if so then I'll start using it, but if it isn't then I won't use this exploit.

Ive always thought the whole "we are banning you for exploiting our failures" is ridiculous. Riot should get a ban for such actions.

If its an exploit that is "abusable" and adds an innate advantage, sure. However, this is a little different and is more abusing mechanics Riot forgot or didnt feel they needed to fix, so I agree.

When I say innate advantage, I mean there is a bug with X champion that makes it so Y move malfunctions and maybe stuns for twice the duration BUT ONLY if you do Z. Thats a bad exploit. This wolf thing isn't.

Don't you need a Kench or Syndra to even get the wolf camp past mid lane? And that neither of them can do it on their own at level 1? Like, it's a cool trick, but not game breaking.

No you can do this with everyone.

The wolf won't follow you past the middle of the lane, you need Knech or Syndra.

Just saw Nightblue do it on stream with Nocturne.

EDIT: And the enemy Lee sin did it to him.

I just saw the reddit thread and a Rioter says it's intentional

But an OCE team got a lost a ban in their game because they used the exploit, so it's still very unclear whether this is supposed to be used or not.

Seems like they're removing it?

Yea, I tested it in a custom on Nunu; took me two tries but it isn't that difficult, I just got boots and rank 1 blood boil. You can probably do it with less MS

I watched xin sao doing it in his first round of clearing the jungle today so I guess you don't need them.

Edit: just in case it was unclear, reinboom commented in the above reddit thread

Alright so I read the comment, but an OCE team lost a ban because of it. So It's still unclear if this is a bug and is staying in the game or if there are plans to remove it.

Lol I don't know either, he said it's intended and that it'd be cool if it came up in pro play, but it seems (and your story confirms) like it's an exploit still. It sounds like the are no plans to remove it unless people really start abusing it

It is an exploit, riot has said they like the idea, but right now it doesn't have a big enough trade off. The exploit is forbidden in the professional scene. In 6.4 riot plans on making changes to the smite buff so that it's not a game breaking exploit
