I read a few weeks ago about updates coming to the ranked system. So I'd like to present a few suggestions and solutions to problems. I doubt any dev will read this massive post but whatever. As someone who has developed and coded for a game in the past I feel the need to speak up because I can relate to the struggle of trying to find game balance and I am naturally always looking for ways to improve.

LOL history: been playing LOL for 5+ years, been ranked bronze - gold have thousands of matches in most game modes (aside from specialty games that aren't always active) current ranks: Silver 4(solo), silver 3(3v3), Unranked (flex) (silver 4 last year)

** Main ranked solution area:**

Main ranked problem IMO: I can go positive, get more assists, more farm, more objectives, basically I can do everything right consistently and still fall in rank because of poor teammates. League is very team based to the point where one person alone is not enough. What is the point of the game if you can literally play way above your ranked tier and still consistently lose, due to teammates. I have hundreds of games and it feels like it is nearly pointless because it almost does not matter at all how good I play. I know a few people will get in here and argue with me about this, but just join any league game and watch what people type and you will know that the majority agree with me. What I am saying is the main reason you have toxic people and players and heavy tilting. Because they play well and still get screwed over. I am attempting to present a solution without ruining the team aspect of the game. Whether or not people like my solution. Something needs to be done regardless. Solving this problem will help better reward those who deserve it with better rank and will help with toxicity as well.

note: And before I get the your just not good enough argument. I know several diamond/plat players who can't climb out of silver without duoing with other diamond/plat players. They all tell me the key is having other good people as duos if you want to climb out.

Idea 1: Change the amount of ranked points you gain or lose after a match based on your performance.

Explanation: Currently you gain a certain amount of points or lose a certain amount of points after a match based on your current league, how much you win lose, ect. You should get more points if you win and you got a high rating. You should lose less points if lose and get a high rating.

Example: My team wins I get s class. I get rewarded 20-25 points. My team wins I get c class. I get rewarded 10-15 points. My team loses I get s class. I lose 10 -15 points. My team loses I get c class. I lose 20-25 points.

Results: Players who play better will climb fasters getting to where they should be ranked. Players who play worse fall faster to where they should be ranked.

idea 2: loss forgiveness (idea revisited and revised)

Explanation: Much like the reroll in ARAM. players get to use one of three "rerolls" after a loss to erase that loss. Resets each month? Or alternatively loss forgive may apply only if you preform above a certain level on the losing team. A class or higher? The exact details on how this would work would need to be discussed and tested obviously to make sure there was a way to prevent people from just trying to farm and not helping the team. However, I'd rather be on a losing team with some guy farming like crazy to get strong enough to get his loss forgiveness, then be on a team where they rage out and try to surrender every 5 minutes.

idea 3: Make it harder to fall out of a league once you make it there. (below plat)

Explanation: Currently I can climb from silver 4 to silver 3. win a game or two, but once i lose and hit 0 at silver 3. If i lose like 1 (2 games if Im lucky). I fall right back down into silver four. It feels like there is no real difference between silver 3 and 4. It means nothing to get out of a league unless its like gold to silver where it takes longer to fall out.

Result: Players who play better will climb fasters getting to where they should be ranked. Players who play worse fall faster to where they should be ranked.

idea 4: Make your matching system put honorable players with honorable players and dishonorable players with dishonorable players.

Explanation: If I am constantly being honored there is no reason to put me with people who are clearly ragers being reported every game. It baffles me how 9 out of 10 games I'm placed with at least one normally more toxic asf people.

Result: Players will climb faster and be less toxic. Cuz toxic players will keep getting other toxic players forcing them to want to be honored and not be toxic. Meanwhile non toxic players will keep getting non toxic teams encouraging them to remain non toxic.

Main ranked suggestion ideas:

I read rewards are being updated for ranked so heres some suggestions: First I want to say this is long overdue. Ranked is the most important and hardcore game mode and it should have the best rewards and as much as possible to encourage people to take part in ranked and to play at their best.

idea one(borders): Make borders selectable (from all seasons) with a date on them. So I can choose my gold border from 2016. people will see the date on it and know what season it is from. Also make the area where it shows my name to friends have a selectable border.

idea two(victorious skins): Reward consistently good players by any champ you have over a 55% win rate gets a special skin or chroma or something to reward people who play "good".

idea three(honors): (goes with idea 4 in the ranked section) Honor rewards and faster honor climbing and falling. I notice I never get reported and almost always get honored and somehow my honor level hasn't changed? I also still get a shit ton of toxic players who clearly are getting reported. They need to really be punished for that type of behavior. As it stands now it feels like the honor system was a step in the right direction. But it is not strong enough. It did not achieve its intended goal as of yet which hints it needs to be more intense.

idea four(hard work): I don't have a suggestion here just want to point out what was already acknowledged a few weeks ago. Something needs to be done for the people who put in hundreds of games of hard work in ranked. They deserve to climb for their efforts more then the guy who gets his diamond friend to carry him through his promos and only plays like 20 matches all season. Shit makes no sense that I am the same rank as someone like that.

General reward suggestion ideas: Blue essence needs a purpose! Heres a few ideas!

Make a convert blue essence to yellow essence option. Make skin shards tradable (by using blue essence). Make champion capsules have something other then champ shards in them. (once you have the champs you want they become pointless)

other random ideas: make skins you have already unlocked (either with essence or rp convertible into yellow essence or a skin of equal rp value)

Update lesser bought skins* example: shadow pince malz could use a little criter update and maybe make his powers gold to match him instead of purple.

Point being alot of skins no one uses or buys or cares about. Why not update them and make them nicer. You are sure to increase your sales of these skins if you did so. Nothing to lose here. Common sense.
