How you can add more bans (BAN AND VETO SYSTEM)

I've run this past a few friends, and I think I have a good suggestion for adding more bans as the champion pool increases.

The main argument I've heard against increasing the number of bans is that it would allow target banning a single person, or a single role, effectively destroying a person's ability to play.

So here is my proposed core solution for now, and I would like you guys to help me improve it.

Imagine we want 4 bans for each team now. What I suggest is making each team ban 6 champions (you can decrease the ban time, it's not that short). After all the bans are made, each team gets to VETO two bans. More specifically, blue team vetos 1 ban, red team vetos 1 ban, then blue team again and red team again.

Why all this?

Let's imagine the worst case scenario. I'm playing... adc, I'm 5th pick on red side. There are between 19 and 21 markmen in the classical sense that are available to me. How large is my champion pool? Usually you have at least 3 or 4 marksmen available to you (ashe sivir tristana and probably another one if you're really susceptible to target bans...) Now if the ennemy team bans all of those for some reason, your team gets to veto TWO of them.

Blue team picks first, but only one champion. In any case, my team has an opportunity to lock an adc for me.

This kills two birds with one stone: -target banning everything from someone is a suboptimal strategy (there could have been more meaningful bans) -everyone has the possibility to play at least one champion they want

Of course new players would need at least 18 champions, but that's even better IMO.

What's tunable here? -number of bans per team -number of vetos per team -order of bans and vetos. One could imagine 3 and 3 bans, then 1 veto for each team, then 3+3 bans again and 1+1 veto for each team, etc. -"locking" one ban: say I absolutely need to ban fiora because she breaks our comp, maybe we irreversibly lock one of the 6 bans in our team -something I didn't think about

Is this idea viable? What issue can you see? What solution/modification do you think could solve said issue?

I'm trying to contribute to make this game better and more enjoyable for everyone, and clearly the ban system is one of the things that will have to change if league of legends is to survive ten years in the future.

3 bans is enough, there is no need for more

With your system, the first team to pick always gets to pick whichever champion they like, effectively making all banning pointless.

For example, if I absolutely do not ever want to play against Zed for some reason, and I ban him every game, suddenly with your veto system the other team can unban him, and I'll be forced to play against Zed nearly every single time because he's a contested pick.

Instead of banning the three champions that your team least wants to play against, you are banning the 3rd-, 4th- and 5th- least-desired champions, while being forced to leave the top two open, every time.
