This isn't a bard late game healing buff so listen up! Since anyone can use Bard's portal I was thinking of a way it can help Bard if enemies use the portal while not demoting them going through. In the end I though about lowering the cooldown for each person going through the portal. This wouldn't be too impactful early game but late game it can help with getting around or initiating and having a faster escape ready.
At least, it should grant assists. If you bait all 5 enemies to chase you through and then you ace them, you should get assists.
Edit: It still doesnt' grant assists for baits, but you're right it does grant assists if your allies go through your journey.
You need it's CD reduced late? We have so many support buys that give him CDR- and magical journey with full CDR is on an 8.4 second cooldown.
You can overlap magical journeys by 1.6 seconds (well... 1.3ish once you count travel time.)

I have a better buff:
Enemy Champions who are knocked into a wall in the opening of Magical Journey are transported to the other side. Enemy Champions who are Light Binded into an opening of Magical Journey are transported to the other side and stunned for 1.5 seconds.
This will make knock back champions insanely popular allied picks. I can think of Jayce, Poppy, Vayne, Alistar, Vi, Syndra, etc.
I think this is a very intriguing mechanic that will make Bard a more interesting player to pick. This buff may even turn Bard from a stain on underwear to the best support in the game.
I don't think it's a very easy mechanic to master, but will definitely be strong.
Just imagine a max CDR Bard leading his whole team around the map, having the MOST MAGICAL JOURNEY EVER!
how about this if you q the enemy on the wall with portal you force them to go through it
How about this, When you use magical journey, skillshots and projectile type skills will go through the tunnel, enhancing their speed and changing their direction according to which way magical journey is facing. The projectile traveling through the tunnel will travel through and gain baseskilldistance*(tunnelspeedmultiplier)
