An idea to adjust league points
Iron 4 and 5 are less than 1% of the population. Its also extremely punishing in Bronze 4 and 3. You can grind out a promo to bronze 3 and then lose 7 games in a row and be bronze 4 with 14 lp. How do you lose? Well, you end up with an iron 1 or 2 player to save time in matchmaking once or twice, you get an angry drunk troll one game who picks double support as adc, you get an overextending laner who doesnt ward one game, etc. They sometimes get spaced out with a win in between them, but most of the time it hits 3 or 4 in a row. You get tilted after the 2nd or 3rd loss and then you yourself have a bad game if you are a grinder or have no other game you want to play in your game time.
So there is cause for concern. Worst case scenario, player who grinds only this game most of the time gets frustrated, stops playing until next season or ever.
**Possible solution: **

Wins should always give LP. The amount you gain doesn't even really need to change. In fact it might be good to leave it be just for a baseline for the test.
-
Dying should modify LP earned in the match. For instance, if you die 1.0+ times per minute during the game, then you should lose LP.
-
Losing costs you LP already, just how much you lose should be modified based on your performance during the game. We have this incredible stat system available in our profile. These systems could easily be used by someone to come up with a good LP modifier. This alone will fix the sudden drops in bronze when you get pulled down by the string of unfortunate events listed in the first paragraph, while still pushing the offenders further back down the ranks where they end up only trolling each other or changing their ways. (Stats systems referenced are the ones in the personal menu system in the game client for each champion. i.e. CS/M, KDA, OBJ, etc)

Inversely, if a player plays phenomenally well and earns an S+, S, S-, A+, A-, or an A, they should earn bonus LP.

In extreme circumstances of non-afk negative reports, players can lose lots of LP. Hopefully, this + chat bans help reduce negative behavior over time in the community.
These changes include both penalties and rewards. It's important because players who end up in a match with a feeder and begin trying to "FF" at 15 minutes or even talk about giving up "
GG, Jungle is already 0/4" prior to 15 minutes lose hope. If the player knew they would lose less LP for their loss if they still performed well in their lane or position, I feel they would try harder and longer into the match before trying to throw in the towel.
I hope the community reads this with an open mind and not with the "get good" attitude of having to carry your whole team every game I've seen in past years reading these forums. Single argument for that is that a player should be able to play a champ for the composition of the team. The "I have to pick a hard carry champ no matter the position I roll in lobby" mindset reduces players champion pools drastically. I personally would play more supportive or tank picks in Jungle or Top if I knew I wasn't going to lose 90% of the LP I got in my last win if I happen to lose that game but still played my position really well.
Long term these changes will provide a much better community, in both skill, variety of position, and attitude... most importantly retaining their attention.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the "you should dodge bad compositions in lobby" mentality. This system would also reduce that need.
Kindest regards,
J Bruno
