All the new Veigar "Mains"

I gotta get this off my chest, I like to play Veigar, and I have for a while. He's not my main by any means but I play him when I want to have stupid fun. There's something just super fun about playing a little ridiculous leprechaun and just absolutely destroying someone by pressing r. That being said, is this little dude balanced? Absolutely fucking not.

You could say that he was a weak laning phase to compensate for his insane late game damage, but you know that isn't true at all. If you don't absolutely faceroll me in lane, I already won laning phase by far and your team will feel it. Even if you do faceroll me mid, if you're ap, I still win because of my ult. The only way he is weak is because he doesn't have much kill potential until 6, but you're Veigar, you don't need early kills at all. Here's my strategy, I sit back and I farm my q, fuck my opponent, he can't do anything to me anyways; and chances are that i'll be outscalling him.

With veigar you have the safest farming of any champ besides mal or morg, you only have to be within 975 units to be able to farm and your passive lets you just keep farming without getting to far out of position. Does your enemy laner try to kill you? Drop an e, if it hits, then put major dmg with w and q, if it misses, then you're safe anyways because they're zoned out and very few people have a way of getting through it without getting stunned. The width of the stun makes it really difficult to get around it, even ahri has to blow a couple of ult charges to get around it, and then she probably won't have enough damage to kill you. Does your enemy laner go to roam? Call mia right away and then drop a w on the wave and clean up with q. He's gonna be losing a bunch of cs and possibly tower and if your laner listens to your mia, they probably won't get a kill. Even if they do get a kill, thats just more damage that your ult will do to them.

Whats the last argument that the new Veigar "mains" use? The stun is unreliable and hard to hit! Yes in lane, it is a hard stun to hit as you can either get out of it or stay in the middle and not get stunned. This is completely different in team fights however, the sheer mass of this stun makes it ridiculous when placed in the middle of a team fight. Sure one or two people might react fast enough while focusing on all the other bullshit you have to pay attention to in a team fight; but if you catch anyone that hasn't built straight tank, they are fucking dead. Even without enemy ap scaling your ult still does a stupid amount of burst coupled with your q and w.

So new Veigar "mains", let me ask you, is everyone else wrong about Veigar being overpowered in his current state, or is it maybe just you not wanting to lose your little taste of overpowered sin.

That is something Veigar has been doing waaaay before his changes in 5.4 though. The stun and the ult got actually nerfed compared to old Veigar, the one difference is his W is more reliable, and his farming is safer, and his assists counting to his AP scalings.

Actually, this reminds me of Garen. Plenty of people complaining he was too tanky and too difficult to kite, when in fact, his changes nerfed those aspects. The one difference is that wannabes now play Veigar because of his popularity, just like Viktor and Urgot.

Yeah, his buffs made him quite strong, but it isn't his ult or the width of the stun that do it, because he has always been like that. If there are things to complain about, its either the range on his Q, or the stun's range, or the bonus AP from assists, not what he has been doing since forever.

One other thing that I forgot to bring up is his damage to turrets, inhabit and nexus. Since the damage you do to towers and such scales with ap now too, Veigars pushing is actually really strong. Most games I play Veigar, i tend to have around 1300 ap, which means I absolutely rip through towers. Multiple games I have been the last one left after a team fight and have been able to close out the game due to my crazy structure damage.

you forgot to mention how easy it is to follow on ganks , especially with the post 6 burst, you just have to get them into the E, and they either flash out of it or can't move away from the incomeing jungler...yiou can do that even some time befor the jungler comes, as the E lasts 5 sec....
