Aerial Ultimate

An Aerial Ultimate (or AU(s)) should be added to League Of Legends. AUs are Ultimate abilities that let you use the entire map from the sky to attack the ones who dare to withstand your constant barrage of unavoidable attacks. Although this seems COMPLETELY unfair, if you read through the entire thread, you may have a different opinion on how balanced these AUs really are.

AUs act as if you got to play two champions in one game. The champion you selected at the start of the game is what you will be playing mostly. Once you get Level 6, you will be able to unlock your "Second Champion". You will be able to control this aerial champion from the ground. You can use it for many different reasons, but, the most spectacular reason, is to see the map that you play on from a different perspective while still being in-game.

There is a lot more to be said about these game-changing abilities. There are a lot of questions to be asked about these abilities. There will probably be a lot of chaos with the community about whether this is a good implementation. Let's focus on the more import topics on hand. More specific information about these abilities will be posted right here, right now!

The first section will be about basic information about AUs. The second section will be about the duration of AUs. The third section will be about pros and cons. The fourth section will be about uses. The last section will be examples of how an AU would look like.

Basic Information:

  1. These abilities count towards your total points (18 points). Your "Q", "W", "E", and "R" max out at 3. This adds up to a total of 12. Your AU's "Q", "W", and "E" max is 2 each. This adds up to a total of 6 making the whole total be 18 (In some circumstances such as Ryze, these maxes MAY vary). AU abilities have a Cooldown and an energy cost (whether it by mana or something else). Since it's your ultimate, it will have at least 2,000 to 3,000 energy and your AU abilities will cost at least 100 to 300 energy.

  2. The vision you have is the same vision you had when you were on the ground. Some AUs can gain more vision depending on the way they are set up.

  3. Some of the AUs can be killed/destroyed if in the range of an enemy champion or turret. Jungle monsters can also attack them. Contrary, AUs can attack enemy champions, small jungle monsters, and minions (including super minions). However, if an enemy is inside of their fountain (Including on Howling Abyss), they cannot be attacked. If enemies are fighting large jungle monsters (like Dragon or Baron), they still can be attacked, but the jungle monsters won't be affected.

  4. If an enemy champion kills/destroys and enemy AU unit, they will be rewarded with a kill but the person who activated the AU won't be penalized with a death. This applies to Turrets; however, turrets won't get rewarded a kill.

Duration:

  1. ALL AUs have a True Cooldown of 240 seconds (4 minutes). A True Cooldown is a cooldown that is not affected by runes, masteries, or items. The duration will span from 30 seconds to 60 seconds (1 minute). The ability cooldowns will span from 3 seconds to 10 seconds.

  2. Before and after the AU, you will have a 5-second cutscene (or about a 5-second cutscene) showcasing the AU, while this is happening, you will have no vision of what is going on in the game; however, you will be notified of kills and deaths from both teams.

  3. During the AU, you will be able to see a bird's eye view (or a semi bird's eye view depending on the AU). Some AUs allow you to descend as close to the map as possible (given an altitude limit while others circle around the map. Some are consistent in regards to a path. Others let you free path through the map. This AU will be consistently in the air unless it has been killed/destroyed.

  4. If you were killed during the AU -this could only happen if you weren't in your fountain or protected by layers of turrets, your death timer will be subtracted from your AU time after you died. Your AU will still be able to be used while you are dead. You have to be alive to use it. For example, if you die 8 seconds before your AU is done, and your death timer is 32 seconds, you would only wait 19 seconds because you would spend he last 8 seconds on your AU, and you would wait 5 seconds for the Animation making a total of 13. Subtract the 2 numbers and you will get 12. What if everything was the same except you have to wait 9 seconds instead? The answer is, you wouldn't have to wait because the AU and Animation comined are longer then the death timer.
