troll pick.. nami mid?

Hi guys! I wanted to talk about nami in mid-lane. Mind you, I am talking about normal games not rankeds.. So, I had this game in which my ADC picked tf and my support picked yasuo. So, thinking the game was 100% lost and teammates were trolling I decided to troll too, and I took my little mermaid mid, even to try my new chroma. Of course I got flamed and my team said I was going to feed Annie ( I thought that too :p ). But I ended the game with a score of 10/2/33, 70000 damage ( first damage dealer of both teams ). I builder morello, sorcere shoes, luden, rylai, rabadon, void staff.

So... Here are my thoughts: Her early game trading potential is really strong thx to her w and the easy thunderlord's proc... At Lev 3 Annie was zoned, at 5 she was dead. Her damage is very higher then I expected, and in early / mid stages can compete with the one of other mids. In late it falls off a bit but it's aoe ( ult, Q, w and the enemy team was all at half hp except for poppy ) and she brings 2 knocks-up and an heal equivalent to 1/3 hp of an ADC. I suppose she should have an hard time vs assassins but this can be said for many squishy mages. The really bad point though is her waveclear: Farming feels good thx to her E and the aa animation which is quite fine, but clearing waves is nearly impossible unless ulting on them. Luden smooths this a little but doesn't solve the problem.

So what do you think about it? Did someone tried this for fun? Do you think it could be a not-so-troll pick under particular circumstances ( like low waveclear enemies, high waveclear in the team)? Am I just crazy?

I wouldn't say she's a troll pick. But I would say her match ups wouldn't be the greatest. Mainly because her damage is subpar due to supports getting damage guts, and utility scaling.

The fact that she is reliant on landing her Q means that without it she is very susceptible.

The last thing about her is her W bouncing. It's nice to have at least 3 targets so you can get the max benefit from it.

However, I don't think AP-Mid Nami would be bad at all to try out in normals.

Nami mid isn't actually a troll pick, she has all the qualities of a mage that can do well on mid lane. It all depends on your opponent. Before Soraka changes I took Nami mid and Soraka mid and I did really well, but I used to go AP/Tank/Support. It is not a troll pick at all.

nami mid is troll

you'll do fine in lane, you may even win sure

but when it comes to the rest of the game you will be a massive burden if your team can't capitalize on your abilities. In normals you probably wont get enough damage teamwide to compensate for your trolling.

It's just not worth it if you want to win. You're making it harder for yourself to climb, there are 50 better midlane options

Ap nami is quite strong, though a bit risky. The lack of waveclear usually means your opponent can shive you in and then roam or back up his jungler on invades, which gives them alot controll early-mid, and she's squishy with little defense, so if you ever push out, ganks are very dangerous.

I did it succesfully in the past, but it certainly is a risky pick where you have to know what you do. Ideally you are premade, cause on your own you lack the damage to carrie fights or straight solokill people( unless they are stupid and underestmiate you, which actually hapens alot). But with a trusty jungler at hand, she can become strong and her impact in teamfights with an ap-heavy built is impressive.

Ap nami is actually quite potent in terms of teamfighting, dueling, and scrimmishing. Her damage does fall off but her utility can get a little crazy with a lot of ap, and her third bounce on her w is really strong because it double scales in both ratio and base+ratio per bounce past the 200 ap mark. The real problem she faces is a lack of waveclear, while also being very suseptable to people jumping on her. On top of that she has problems with her skill path in mid because her q is usually a 1 point wonder s a support, but is her best waveclear option as a mid.

Pretty much every support is better mid than mages in the current state. Supports generally have some form of defensive spells which scale allowing them to prevent the assassins from snowballing.

Where most mages are given skillshots for CC or just get shit on.
