Lux mid almost unplayable:bug? @jinxylord @repertoir. please!

Hello! After jumping in game full of fear for the changes to my favorite, reason-i-play -the -game champion and the harsh changes to my favorite class of champions in general I had to realize with horror my fear were still 100 times better than what truly was the situation.

I have a generally aggressive playstyle and I went out of mana at level 2 in both games I played. In the first game I was facing a Brand, who I play very rarely. In the second game I was against a Syndra though, whose mana costs I am confident with.. And she was at about half mana bar while poking me back. I basically lost lane at level 2 without any kind of chance to come back till teamfights as I was constantly oom.

I didn't understand how that was possible until in a duel I died because I couldn't reactivate my already on the ground E while oom. The moment I died it exploded normally. I went oom again with E on the ground later and I realized this: Pressing it again to explode made the indicator glow.. Exactly like when you have no mana to cast a spell.

So I checked the spell with all numbers up: If you activate E again in the first second or so after landing it on the ground (the near istant detonation) IT TAKES MANA FOR BOTH CAST AND EXPLOSION...

Lux mana costs are already pretty harsh but having your main poke tool at a 140 mana cost at level 1 effectively makes the champion unable to trade . Coupled with the radius reduction (which makes pretty much impossible hitting anyone not afk without insta explosion ) and the mana nerfs later in the game (preventing you from sustaining to poke at double mana cost) the champion is unplayable in any scenario but teamfights when you can allow your E on the ground enough to avoid this (who I suppose and deeply hope is a bug).

Please fix this if it's a bug! This mechanic (I sincerely hope bugged) is killing (especially mid) Lux!

Yeahhhhhhhh, sorry about that.

We shipped a fix to live about an hour ago. You should be good to spam laugh (and E) now.

This is completely happening, yes. I have tried 5 minutes ago in training grounds. Everytime you detonate immediately, 140 mana is gone.

Lux is actually unplayable at the moment due to this bug. Hope it is fixed soon!

Idk why but when im playing lux everything is normal and e cost 70 mana so maybe it was one game bug or they already fixed

Lux, Kassadin and a couple others have essentially gotten destroyed with the mana changes. They are no longer viable mid.

Edit: Wow already done, what about the 10 kled bugs, 40 illaoi bugs and 7.62x10^5 mordekaiser bugs? (although hes a meme at this point I mean it about the others).

There's finally a downside to shoving undodgeable poke down your opponent's throat from long range and it's a bug :( . Damn

NO WONDER! I was like hmm, i can't even trade without losing more than half my mana bar.

I'm not having this issue. When i played lux today I had very few to no mana problems but I went to the pratice tool to test it out and It's only costing the mana for the cast of E and not the detonation. It might be skin based since I use the Elemental Lux Skin for both the game i played today and in the practice tool.

Just tested this on the practice tool and the bug was consistent. This must suck for Lux mains...

Is that why it was so incredibly difficult to waveclear in my recent game of Lux? I was already behind due to my Mac (OS High SIerra so kind of poop) bugged out and I had to reload the game, so I was two levels behind a Diana, and she then proceeded to easily clear waves with no mana issues while it basically took more than I had in total to clear one, even after I caught up in levels. This is of course also because of the decreased E radius meaning that Lux can't easily and reliably damage the whole minion wave anymore, so her waveclear is now arguably worse in spite of the decreased cooldown and mana cost.
