I dont like being forced to play counter picks

It makes the game extremely unfun that i have to play certain champs against other champs to even stand a chance because of people having broken/overloaded kits.

I can't just blind pick what i want to play because on the "off chance" they pick a yasuo/ekko/fiora/gangplank/Cassiopeia/riven/ other hypermobile, high damage characters with crowd control for some reason.

I get that some of these champs have other champs that counter them, but its ridiculous that if im not playing a counter my input basically means absolutely nothing about how the lane is going to go because they just have way too many tools at their disposal. It's entirely up to them to fuck up in order for them to lose the game.

I'm sorry, but is this seriously what people are complaining about now? League is about strategy, no shit you can't pick whatever you want and expect to have a good lane no matter what. The fact that the champions you're complaining about have counters as well means they can't pick whoever they want either.

Just about every game with different things you can play is going to have picks that counter whatever the enemy is playing. If you're playing rock paper scissors, you shouldn't expect to be able to throw paper every single time and win. If you're playing magic and run a control deck, you shouldn't expect to always beat aggro decks. If you're playing overwatch, you shouldn't expect to win with a team of all offense champions. If you're playing chess, you shouldn't expect to play the same cheese strats and win every time. If you're playing starcraft, you shouldn't expect to zerg rush every game without being countered. If you're playing league, you shouldn't expect to play leblanc into galio or blitz into morgana and have a good lane.

An example of why this is a problem with certain champions as opposed to all.

Singed counters illaoi for two reasons. 1. his damage doesn't require him to sit still so he can dodge tentacles while still doing damage 2. His poison triggers illaoi's e very quickly which makes it hard for her to do the full damage to him.

However illaoi can still lane against singed and cs and try to play the game against him. She's just not that great against him. It's hard for her to all in him, but as long as she plays smart it's possible for her to outplay him and possible for her to contribute to the game.

Now compare this to sion vs fiora or yasuo. In order for sion to be able to do ANYTHING they have to fuck up severely. Yasuo has to dash into his q, fiora has to dash into his q and miss her e. Even if i land my e on them every time it's off cooldown it wouldn't matter because i have no way to follow up unless they make a mistake.

Sion as far as i can tell is mean't to be a lane bully who is very tank and damage falls off late game. Why then is he countered by actual hypercarries at the beginning of the game? It's not just him that this happens to either its a wide variety of champions that are soft or hard countered by late game oriented champions who have kits that simply make it so its impossible to "outplay" them.

You do not have to play counterpicks. Just pick out 1 - 3 champion you really like and master them entirely. You can beat any champion if you know your own first. (You can't win everytime tho, so don't get upset if it doesn't work out from time to time)

Gangplank is not very good right now, and even though yasuo is very annoying to play against you can deal with him easily. For ekko you just have to know how his kit works in order for you to beat him, cassio, idk i think shes pretty strong rn. and riven, pick a braindead tank and dont fight her level 1-3 go back buy a chain vest stay and farm watch her die of boredom and watch as she tries to dive you a tank when you're 1/2 hp under tower because all you've been doing is farming yet you still out trade her. lol
