Riot enforcing the Meta with bans?
Here's a quote from WookieCookie in response to a player inquiring about why he was banned for two weeks:
"The behavior is similar to matches where you play support. I can see you like an aggressive playstyle, with champs like Braum you're no doubt eager to secure the kill for your ADC. But in some matches your ADC is hesitant, and in these cases you've gotten extremely upset. In the end, out right leaving the lane to roam, or just ending up at top lane despite the protests of other players on your team." http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/bug-report/BPW3ButA-anyone-else-getting-random-2-week-bans
In my opinion this is an absurd statement for a Riot Employee to make. Riot has stated multiple times they have no interest in enforcing the meta and, yet, here we see that if you play a "support" role you're confined to bottom lane unless you wish to face a potential ban.
Under this new system, it seems, unconventional or unpopular ideas are subject to ban despite the fact that such a decision directly conflicts with their list of bannable offenses. Hypocritical much? https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752884-Reporting-a-Player#h2q1
Is it acceptable for Riot to be enforcing the meta with the 2 week ban hammer? If the ADC bot lane is feeding and the support role decides it's better worth their time to help other lanes, should they be potentially banned for this?
