I tried that once..he just walks up to you and autoattacks you back. His autoattacks with thunderlord's really hurt at early levels, and some midlaners don't have autoattacks that outrange his turrets t_t

You dont need to outrange the turret. You just need to wait for the turret to aggro your minion wave then walk up to attack it. The beam-attack it does is a skillshot, so you can dodge it if you see it coming.

I've played Heimer in high gold.

You just need to adapt your strategy to how your opponent deals with your turrets.

If they don't do anything and just let you push, take the tower and force enemy jungle pressure (and at least go even if they actually attempt a gank) or push out and roam. Heimer and actually pull off decent ganks on top if you're on blue side by going around behind and placing turrets between them and their tower. If they try to kill your turrets as soon as possible, wait for them to start going for your turret and throw your grenade and rockets at them. If they use their spells to kill your turrets from long range, accept the trade because they'll run out of mana way faster than you will, and likely miss cs at the same time. When they're forced to recall, you can use your ulted turret to take the tower if the enemy jungler doesn't cover the lane. If the jungler does cover the lane, steal his raptors while he's csing under tower.

I'll admit that he does get weaker as your opponents become more and more skilled, but you can still play around that to a point. I haven't played Heimer in plat though as I got too annoyed with his turret ai for a while. I imagine he can still work, but it would require more precise planning and jungler coordination to be really successful.

The best cure for bronze is to learn the basics of the game. Cure for silver use your brain while you are playing. idk bout gold havent won that battle yet.

You accept that you're garbage and learn from people that are better than you. When I was in silver/gold I always thought I was making the best decisions. Then I started playing with friends that were better than me and they explained why I was wrong in mostly every situation I thought I was right.

It might not work against any champ or match - obviously. But there are people that climb to D1, Masters only playing the Donger. He is effective and if you have map awareness and can land the grande - you will climb. Just like on any (most) other champ.

Literally the only champ I used to get to level 30. People at lower elos have no idea how to play against him and just assume he's "stupid op"

Yeah, I'm 1/3 of the way to m7 on him and can honestly say that pre-"murder everything that isn't an assassin" patch he was hilarious into certain matchups. Running him veigar and kench, you can effectively have a "hard counter" to like 95% of anything meta that gets picked midlane.

Despite what most counter guides say one of his best counters is Ekko (a good one). If heim does any obvious patterns like stand in the middle of his turrets or set them up too close a good w>e>q combo will get him to back off from poking. If the patterns continue just do the same and invite an ally. Only problem is farming relies solely on q or using q to get rid of turrets. Sometimes all your cs will probably be his turrets, or you could just roam :P.

Heimer has counters just like most healthy champions. It takes him time to do damage to anyone so assassins that can burst him down quickly or become invulnerable while they do damage are quite effective. Also there are several champions in game that can move his turrets. Most of these also do AOE damage so they counter him well. Finally the new assassin item that provides a channeled spell shield may very well push Heimer to trash tier as he tends to be very weak if he cannot land his long cd hard to aim sole crowd control grenade.

This was so much more true back when Heimer first got reworked. It was so bad Riot actually nerfed his turret AI to make it worse at farming. They had a perfectly good AI system for the donger and they made it worse because you know...CS is so much skill. It's so important to the game that everyone be able to miss gold because they can't click an enemy at the moment it dies.
