League needs a new hypersustain support
Before everything, I would like to say that I actually know what I'm talking about. A lot of people complain about the game without actually understanding it. I'm a Platinum 1 (2k+ elo) support main, just Lolking Cpt Rastapopulos.
Also, this thread is not about how bad
is. I actually think she is one of the best supports, I just feel like her unique gameplay doesn't fit me/other players.
>tl;dr:
is the only one of her kind; a hypersustain support. Her job is nothing else than healing, which is a playstyle I would like to experience with different mechanics; with another champion than
.
"There are already champions that can heal" I'm talking about hypersustain, a champion that has god tier healing abilities.
Down there is my opinion on different supports categories. All the champions in the same category has approximately the same playstyle.
Harassers
zone, harass, set up kills
[I dont consider
&
as supports, although if you think they are they would both fit in this category]
Opportunists

picking up, zone, punish bad positionning
Polyvalents

adapt to the situation, mobility, team utility
Protectors
disengage, soak damage, peel
Depending on the way some champions are built, they can be placed in multiple categories (ex:
could be played as a harasser)
"So why isn't
a polyvalent support?" Because she can't adapt to any situation as well as the polyvalent class, doesn't grant mobility and the only true team utility she provides is her heals.
"What about** protectors**?" She can't really disengage, she can't soak damage any other way than healing, and she can't peel.
"She can't peel? Are you serious?!" No, she can't peel. What I call peeling is:
- Absorbing/blocking damage
- Significant resistant buff
- Rengar factor
Let me define what I call the Rengar factor. If a Rengar would ult and try to 100-0 your marksman, would you be able to save him?
can only use her silence to protect her marksman, and given that the
is a good player, he would Q W E (or whatever is the combo I'm not a Rengar player) mid-air/while invisible. So yeah, little
would die.
doesn't prevent damage, she just give back the health lost.
Also, other healers (
mostly) do not heal as primary mechanic.
>My point is:
is the only support of her kind: a Hypersustain support, and has a unique playstyle that cannot be experienced with any other support.
Colclusion: Riot Games should think of releasing a new support, which would rely on healing allied champions for insane ammounts, but that would still feel different than
. "But wouldn't the gameplay of that new champion be too much like
?" No. I've tought of ways to create a hypersustain support that would feel unique. Instead of direct heals that cost 10% health, it could be heals over time that cost only mana. Also, what about %HP heals (I'm looking at you old
)? AoE heals? Grey health "heals" (like
)?
Sorry if my english was hard to understand, it's my secod language. Let me know what do you think about this thread in the comments and don't forget to upvote/downvote; this theory took me a lot of time to elaborate! Thanks a lot!
