Best solo queue mage?

Hey there, I'm Cpt Rastapopulos, currently a plat 1 Support main. I believe that mid lane is one of the best lane to gain elo in solo queue, and also I enjoy playing mages since they mechanically feel like supports. I wish to rise up to diamond 3 on season 6, and I would like to know your opinion about which mage is the best in solo queue to gain elo. My general playstyle is trying to survive the early game while constantly farming, and come out huge in the end game to carry my team. My favorite mid laners are currently and I also enjoy playing in normals.
