Does rank even mean anything now?

Riot literally admited that they want people to grind a lot more under the pretex of "that change affects smurfs" when in reality affects everyone equally, if anything, a casual player that doesn't play 50 games per day will be much more affected by how hard is to grind ranks than someone spamming games and "smurfing" with acutally a positive rank, but how the casual 55% rank palyer will get even silver or gold with those stupid changes, when winning means a lot harder enemies and LESS LP gain.

In last season someone could reach Gold pretty much with enough mechanics, from the last changes anyone apparently could reach g3 just by trolling and grinding, and now no one can even get out of a bronze tier (like from b3 to b2) without a 15 games winstreak xddd

Rank never meant anything, but these changes also dont effect you, me or other non smurf/active players.

Stop making excuses for your inability to climb.

I'll just copypaste my other comment, perhaps you already know stuff I said, but w/e.

Why cant you just study what they did and how the ELO systems work?

There are two things in ranked, your visible rank and MMR/ELO.

Your rank is pointless and only functions for either bragging/satisfaction/insert your reasons.

MMR/ELO is elusive number, we cant tell exact value of it, but we can guess how it works if we study other ELO systems(star craft/chess/dota you pick one/for more info summon Kai Guy) and you can kinda guess it from stat webs like op.gg(dont ask me how they calculate it). Anyway, it puts you into the game with ppl with similar MMR.

Now with this out of our way, lets get onto how the new system works.

Are you winning suspicious amount of games?

If yes, your mmr gains stay same while lp gains diminish.

That means, while you are still playing vs better and better players just like you used to, it now gives you less lp, so your visible rank is much lower that your MMR is.

Result?

It will demotivate many players(it would me).

i Reached gold 4 this season without any effort actually xD i was placed in bronze 1 and i was playing troll picks like vayne jungle .. i was trying new stuff and i made it to gold 4 without even realising it. Theres no reason for me to climb more. People that know how to play will reach their rank pretty easy. For example Showmaker reached rank 4 challenger in EUW in a week from bronze. with like 93% winrate when they were in Europe for worlds.

MMR is everything rank is the visual part that means nothing ... you can see people tweeting riot games that they have insane winrate with 40 + games being gold 1 /plat 4 but playing with diamond 2/3 players (smurfing)
