Why do people not build MR when I have over 800 ap...

I seriously don't get it at all... Isn't it simple that you should build MR when I'm playing as and all I need to do is , W, and Q and BAM 1 shot... Then they complain in chat that fizz is to op and stuff like that. Just build MR. I'm looking at your MR and it says 0!!! Do you not get that if you wanna beat Fizz or any AP CHAMP that has 1 or maybe 2 shot potential is that all you have to do is build MR or cc then champ. I just don't get it at all... Don't complain to me that your getting 1 shotted if you have no MR...

Fizz should have 0.2/0.3 ratios or not be able to proc sheen on Q.

MR is rather weak at the moment, and depending on the champion it's just not worth it. Someone like Garen can sometimes get away with no MR items simply because of the amount of health he builds, but a Draven has better things to fill his item slots with as one MR item won't do him much good.

The complaining is absolutely idiotic, but not building the items is at least somewhat understandable.

Banshee's Veil and Guardian Angel are the two best MR items for a squishy champion, but because of their passives and not their stats.

I mean if Fizz uses his whole combo item 3128 , R,E,W,Q I really doubt banshee's veil is going to do anything. Especially with sheen now being able to proc with fizz's Q

Banshee's Veil is good against some AP burst champs, but as you said Fizz isn't one of them. GA is better with a Fizz running around.

You literally just answered your own question as to why people don't build MR buddy. Banshee's Veil is probably the best MR item and it still isn't going to stop a 100-0. What's the next solution? Build two MR items and lose every single fight anyways?

Why is MR weak right now?

I assume its because damage values far exceed the resist values, but thats just personal thinking, not sure on how it actually works or what the issue is.

Because even if they build mr fizz will still deal allot of dmg because of his W and the lich bane fizz is op they need to nerf that fish

Just so I don't have to go back through the maths.

The problem with buying MR is that, if you have DFG and Void staff already built, they are literally throwing their gold away. They would need far too many defensive items (some MR and mostly health) to counter your fed Fizz. It's more effective for them to continue building damage and hope that they can zero you out before you zero them out.

I'm assuming you're running offensive masteries and have sorc shoes, as well:

Effective Health = HP (85+0.611MR)/(100*1.2) = HP (85 + 0.611MR)/120

At 42 MR (this is the base for ranged champs + MR Blues), the target's effective health is 92% of what their HP says -- they have effectively less health just from fighting you (as if they had -8 MR)

Buying Banshee's puts them at 97 MR, making their effective health 120% of what their HP says.

Just to articulate how horrifying this is: at 100 MR, you're effective health is supposed to be 200% of what your HP is. Instead; your items have made it as though the target only had 20 Magic Resistance. They spent the gold and the item slot to increase their apparent MR by 28 -- half of the MR on the Banshees.

I wouldn't build MR in that instance because it wouldn't make any difference. If you DFG and land the combo you're killing me whether or not I buy MR on a squishy. Better off building the damage and trying to get you first.

MR is in a terrible place right now. Nobody builds it, period, unless it's tacked on an item with a better active ( item 3102 item 3065 item 3026 ) and even then it's just the active they want. If your Fizz is built properly he's going to have a huge pile of AP supporting his full skill combo AND a DFG to amplify said combo AND a Lichbane for even more damage AND a void staff, sorc boots, and masteries that render most of that MR useless anyway. Add to that the fact there's a lot less MR than Armor and you get less MR per item than armor and yeah, it's hard to blame people for just never buying it no matter the team comp.

Even if you were facing 5 AP champions I'd question its value as opposed to things like item 3083 item 3143 item 3068 just because health is easier to stack and more likely to let you live longer than MR.
