6/4 still bronze 5

Why even bother with placements for those of us with mmr's that won't even bother raising our rank above the bottom most rung. Sorry I went into placements after last season going 0/15 in placements, my mmr is so tanked I don't see why it even matters. I did 6/4 a 6 game winning streak or something like that. I would have rather gotten LP for those victories I would have been bronze 4. I'm still bronze 5. I don't understand this ranking system at all it's stupid as hell.

I could have gone 0/10 and still been in bronze 5. I could have gone afk. I don't see a point in playing a game that doesn't reward you even if you do above average. The point of seasons seems to completely miss any sort of logic. Why even have a "season" at all, if it offers people nothing. Others in high elos went 2/8 and are still platinum. Others did well and were also decreased in their league. It's so wrong.

That's the problem you can get better, but never get rewarded for it....

Why bother? To get better.

To lose 15 in a row starting at placements - sounds like you rage quit or did stupid things to lose that many in a row, odds are in your favor to win at least one of those just by not going afk.

What's stupid as hell is to think you're entitled to climb when you are struggling in b5.

You are playing with the weakest players in the community. The intermediate AI bots arguably provide more challenge. You lost 15 in a row last season, and think you don't have a deficit to make up?

Instead of having this entitlement to a reward, you should be asking yourself what you need to fix to play better than the weakest of the playerbase. I myself hadn't played since season 4 and despite not being caught up on all the changes I was still able to play well enough to lock a silver placement two days before the season ended.

While I've always managed to lock in at silver every season I've been around, I am familiar with what it's like to be in bronze as I did have to make the climb out as my mmr did tank before the end of season 3. It took a bit longer, but I realized I had to adapt. Did it get frustrating at times, sure. But, the one thing I did enjoy was having to play against some of the lowest rated players in the game. Of course, that also meant having them on your team as well.

I totally get that you feel like you aren't making any progress. But just by looking at your match history, your death count is 5 or higher in all but 2 of your last 20 matches. It's likely you're often fighting when you shouldn't or fighting for too long (like chasing kills). Remember, you're playing against the weakest players, if you want to rank above them you need to play better, one of those aspects being dying less often.

Instead of feeling defeated that you seem to not make any progress, try forgetting about rank and just looking at your own gameplay. As you do improve you naturally climb.

I wanted to update this after watching a match from a friend I haven't talked to in ages.

Quick backstory, met season 4 and both enjoyed running Vayne. I ended silver, she ended bronze. She made it to gold season 5 when I was gone, and I'm pretty sure just like me she finished placements season 6 near the end to lock in silver.

Watching her game I saw she had definitely made huge improvements when vs season 4. (Not surprising given the s5 gold) I hadn't checked rank or anything when I spectated, I had just gotten out of a co-op and saw her in a match. It was a Cait Annie vs Vayne Naut. I came in after several minutes had past. Her team played objectives but also had a commanding lead and after one team fight took a huge lead and it was pretty clear who was likely to win short of a throw.

When I checked her rank it listed b5.

I still remember watching a video where someone had 4 b5's and a silver run a co-op a few seasons ago. What I saw in my friend's match was not what I remembered as "bronze five".

Long story short, don't feel bad about a b5 placement this season - them pushing folks down to plat or lower is likely to be doing more harm than good. Afterall, there's a reason they had to add so many tiers in the first place.
