As a person who loves League, Just wanna express my feelings towards Dynamic. (Long post)
So I think the best way to start this is to say that this community is so many different things, There are those who take the game seriously, People who take the game as serious as any other sport, Those who don't, Good/Bad Passionate/Not Striving to be perfect striving to have fun, Maybe both And many more obviously, Riot has these moving parts to keep up with, Because these different players have different needs for some things, Riot is juggling these needs the best they can but they cant even start certain things they may want to do because it may effect one of these types badly, Its the struggle of being a company. Wont get easier, Every decision to this game now will be literally changing peoples lives on a very large scale, Some more than others. I think Dynamic is the first problem of many that are going to happen in the future, They have to balance out These types of players/people and then also evaluate the benefits of doing these different things, Catering to the majority is why Dynamic happened.
This is something that needs to be understood, It benefits people differently and the steps taken on how Riot is going to handle this is very important, How are they going to balance out the PRO players and the people who want to be while also balancing people that are not pros and don't care to be, Currently different elo's play in the same environment, If you are level 5 and just now learned how to use a computer for the first time in your life you are playing the same game as someone who has been playing every day for years aside from the players you get matched with of course, Is this a problem? No, Why would it be but what it does mean is that Riot has to cater that environment to those in the majority and that sucks because it means that the most passionate players just have to accept it with no say, Oh you have been a pro for several years and maybe won worlds multiple times? Stayed #1 on the ladder for an entire season? Well too bad this season Riot decided that mid lane is too fast and it needs more gold coming in for a more exciting game(This is of course an example and a over exaggeration), What I am saying here is that Riot has to figure a way to make it so people who take this game super serious and want to perfect the art are not limited in a cool aspect of the game because for whatever reason in low elo that champion or that feature or that whatever it may be is causing issues so now they have to change it ruining something awesome to make it work with newer players.
Its kinda like if the NFL started making rules just because high school football teams were having issues with that rule but only because they may not be as good at the game so that rule is causing problems, so the NFL changes the rule to effect every professional player just so its not inconvenient for new comers into the game. Don't get me wrong though I personally think Riot has done a great job at balancing both but why should that be the system? I think Dynamic queue may be the first example of this, Its something that makes lower elo's more enjoyable for a large portion of the community but its a just a inconvenience for high elo players(The top players). Riot is so limited in options if they constantly have to figure a best of both worlds for high and low elo, Just to spit ball an idea here for an example, There could be separate patches after a certain skill level, Regular patch and then at say Platinum or Diamond uses a "competitive patch" , They need a way to actually make League competitively awesome as it can be without being forced to balance a game to very different styles of play, The separate "Competitive patch" could be a more refine version the higher elos play on, Make high elo changes have to go through more than a design team after a certain elo maybe? Where past a certain skill level decisions of buffs/nerfs are not just inserted to the entire game? Think about it, So many balance issues would be solved if the higher level of play was respected more, As in just because its a problem in low elo does not mean that it is in high elo, Give the people who are great at the game some input, In client voting system for what needs work or something along those lines, This "competitive patch" could be the same patch used in pro play currently allowing pros to actually practice on that right patch while also not playing on a patch where a champ is disabled for example, Anyways that's all I have to say really, Seems like Riot added Dynamic creating AN INSANE AMOUNT of variables for something that does not benefit a very important side of the community and it could of been avoided if once you reached a certain elo you play on a competitive patch or something along those lines with its own patch notes keeping top players from having to play at their level with random issues that would barely even be noticeable in lower elo games.
Any voices will not be heard about this topic unless they are pro or high up because from a casual non serious ranked perspective dynamic makes more sense and is more fun, Majority wins in the end as you would expect its just super sad that there was not a better option considering it is a negative thing to the people who are most likely much more into the game than a person who agrees with it.
That is my 2 cents on it anyways, I'm not claiming to know better than anyone and certainly don't assume that I do, I am not some well known pro player, I am just a guy who loves League and wishes being high elo was a more prestigious thing and not just a loading screen border, Show them that you care that they actually took the time to get really good, Put them in an environment handled different than the regular players because they are not regular players..Thanks for reading, Have a good one.
Edit Rush tweeted some stuff talking about how Solo and Dynamic could not coexist and Riot probably knew that from the start, If anyone finds this post reading about the topic here is Rush's Tweets (Rush is a NA pro player currently on C9 known for being a solo q god in Korea, Reaching #1 spot destroying people with Lee.)
Sorry for any typos*
