Why I think LoL should have a energy/limited match system

League of Legends is a very time consuming game, and it doesn't help to have the fact that you can't control how many games a day you play, or how long those games last. Before anyone says that it's necessary to have unlimited playing time in order to grind (Tiers, IP, etc.), remember the fact that you can be doing much more productive things in those 3-4 hours you spend playing each day. I myself play a lot, although there are many people who play much more than me (1000+ total games) and sometimes I wish I could be permabanned just so that I can stop playing (Don't actually ban me Rito lol). If we had a system where the number of games or how long we played each day was limited, I think it would help many people around North America to get back on track with their social lives. In my life, instead of going out with friends or doing homework, I would play League of Legends, which would really screw me up. I've tried to quit a few times with success (2-6 months at a time) but once I came back I binged :( If we could have a self-control option that limited the amount we played, I think that the lives (Socially (and possibly physically, I started getting pains in my wrist and hand from improper ergonomics)) of many would benefit from being able to control their habit of playing with a system that is IN THE GAME. A simple uninstall or firewall can easily be overcome by the simplest of minds, so I think having a one-time option to turn on a energy-per-game system (2-5 charges, each recharging 1:30 hours or so) would help addicts. Rito wouldn't be losing money as parents will stop thinking kids are addicted and parents permabanning them IRL. With this, players will have controlled play, and can play for longer periods of time as they won't suffer physical pain or social problems. i.e parents thinking youre addicted, carpal tunnel syndrome, vision, spine, etc. Btw dont judge I'm still in elementary school :) tl;dr A system with limited games per day or few hours, to reduce problems we often get from playing too much.

This is a personal problem. If you are living with your parents, then tell them about your problem, not Riot. Even the simplest of minds can get around a self-imposed barrier (firewall, uninstall) like you said, but so too can it have the discipline to just log off.

There is a big difference between addiction and simple lack of self-discipline.

Learn to control your desires. Learn to delay gratification. Learn to prioritized your life and schedule properly. These are not Riot Games responsibilities, but yours. If you're really that young... then start learning them now because if you don't your adult life will suck.

You don't need to quit League, just learn to control yourself.

As someone with an addictive personality I know that lack of discipline can cause issues, but that means that you should either be working on your own to fix the issue, because who's to say that you won't just get a fix from something else, or asking people in the real world to help you with it. Or just use people. Make appointments, meet up, etc.

So I'm pretty much saying what everyone else is saying: if you want to stop playing the game so much take the matter into your own hands and use it as an excuse to work on self control in other areas of life while you're at it.

I think an option to protect yourself against addiction would be great. Most players would never use it, but it could help those who realize they are addicted but can't stop themselves. Game addiction is a serious problem and it is in the best interest of everyone, including Riot games, to keep their players healthy.

What if you have a weekend to do nothing on? If there was an energy system that would turn a lot of people away from the game. I wouldn't have spent real money on this game if I couldn't play it when I wanted to. Also games with that type of system tend to not do as well. Learn some self control

I'm addicted to this game, and i'm rotting my life away because I spend literally every single minute of my free time on this game. However, what got me into League is that it doesn't have these stupid gimmicks that all the other free to play games have. I don't need this game to be another clash of clans pay or wait affair.

It's a personal problem hopefully I will resolve, my problems shouldn't have to ruin the game for everyone else.

Why not get a friend, they tend to make you not rot on the computer 24/7

I was suggesting an optional system for those that want to turn it on. I know that an energy system isn't the best solution, and that self-control is, but I thought that for those who are addicted that they might need an easy access tool to help. I just feel like Riot knows that so many people are rotting their lives away to LoL and are doing nothing about it (Mainly because they can't do something that everyone will agree on)
