The game doesn't seems good for AP midlaner at the moment

After all nerfs on the AP items, mages are realy weak except some exception like Lux.

For example, a lot of traditional mages get the lowest winrate of the game : LeBlanc, Syndra, Viktor, Veigar, Orianna, Cassiopeia. They all are between 45 and 46% of winrate.

I hope they will get some love from Riot soon because play Lux/Ahri/Zed/Corki every matches in midlane is getting boring and boring --'

I feel like mage builds are actually in a decent spot right now. generally through the 20-30min games i get into (bronze 3 and climbing btw.) that i get just about enough gold to get 3-4 items built assuming that i do decently. something in the range of 10-14k gold. I've been maining Anivia mostly for my climb, and that generally nets me item 3027 item 3003 item 3020 and most of the time im able to finish item 3174. I feel like after 30mins, ap champs not getting closer to full build could be a bad thing, but im still able to dish out tons of damage despite lacking much ap, and i feel somewhat tanky even since roa gives all that hp, and any ap laners cant trade well with me from all that armor. if i were able to finish the build, most games i'd grab item 3135 + item 3151

All of those champions except Viktor and for a brief time Veigar had low win rates throughout most of season five.

It's fascinating that people are out for Lux's blood when she has not changed in any meaningful way since her release, years ago. When people see Lux at the top of this or that list they assume it means she's overpowered, when in fact what is happening is Riot's clusterfuckery of this game and midlane in particular has created an environment where Lux is one of the few AP mids who can compete at all.

Leblanc Needs a rework, she has a toxic kit, I saw a post saying " Does anyone actually ever feel outplayed when killed by leblanc? " and that is so true... she's just annoying, kinda like Fizz

I think Riot should just increase most mages' AP scaling in general with some exceptions. Currently, mages have to build full AP to be consistent with their usefulness, while AD carries and assassins can go for some items that doesn't give much AD but provides a lot of durability (Maw, Sterak's, sometimes even Frozen Mallet). Or, you know, make new items that give less AP in general but provides more durability.

Mages have fewer options in general as well. You have a grand total of about 3(or possibly 4) defensive options in the mid lane, but only one is good against the incredibly popular assassins that are in every other game.

item 3001 Good against other mages, but doesn't do shit to an AD assassin item 3174 Again, good against mages, but doesn't do shit to an AD assassin item 3157 Good against AD assassins, but the build path is trash against the assassins; the active helps more than the armor, so seeker's armguard is not a good item against one of these guys. item 3027 Would be good if it didn't take so long to stack, and doesn't give you any resistances, so you better hope you have armor runes, or you're still fucked.

Meanwhile, assassins have:

item 3156 Pretty up there in price with Zhonia's, but counters mids really hard right now, while still giving AD and offensive stats. Not to mention Hexdrinker is a lot more useful to the assassin in this matchup than seeker's armguard is for the mage. item 3139 Still has a better item in the build path than seeker's armguard, still gives tons of offensive stats, and lifesteal, as well as a free cleanse for if you're against a Mid with consistent cc, such as Lux or Annie.

That's another thing though; lifesteal. Assassins can lifesteal ridiculous amounts, just like any other AD role. When I see a Zed tower dive me, steal raptors and wind up with 3/4 health when he decides to cs while I wait to spawn (after he was seriously low) I want to puke blood. Not to mention one of the items in the game that gives you the most flat AD also gives you the most lifesteal, and a shield. So, all you need to tower dive someone is Bloothirster. Lifesteal off some minions so you have a full shield, tower dive, and you'll survive a solid 90% of the time unless you're facing lulu, in which case why are you tower diving lulu??? That's what she wants!

I love how there are so many threads pointing out how badly mages are doing when Riot has made it very clear there's going to be a large-scale mage update later this year, likely within a month or two.

Yeah obviously. Hence the mage update coming.

Leblanc SHOULD have low winrate....if someone who is supposed to be insanely difficult and mastered by only a few people has high winrate, THEN something is wrong. Cough Zed cough cough.
