How about a utility buff to wards by adding something to their placement radius when using them:

And that's "Line of Sight" highlight, where the radius the ward can actually give vision to is highlighted.

So it's not a buff to wards, but rather something to make their use a little easier.

EDIT: Adding a visual aid courtesy of my legendary paint skills.

Black Circle = Ward Vision Radius on indicator Blue Circle = Ward itself Solid Red shape = Terrain Green Outline = Brush Grey Outline = what would be highlighted in the indicator for what ward will grant vision of in the radius

The circle on the left represents ward indicators as we have them. On the right you see a grey outline to (roughly) indicate what would be highlighted in the new indicator to help people see if line of sight is a problem or not.

There used to be a mastery that gave you extended ward range as well vision.

You're not understanding.

The vision radius doesn't change.

But when you're placing a ward, you see the indicator of its radius. I'm simply saying within that radius, highlight what the ward will grant vision of.

Okay, I was confused at first too, but that makes more sense now. This would be cool!

I think vision radius is the same as the ward placing radius or very close to it. IDK i barely bother too look at it anymore lol even as a supp main.

Editing in an image (created with masterful work in paint) as a visual aid.

Oh yeah, no they could do this super easy. item 3185 's active has a radius which is the amount of vision revealed. If this item had it wards can very easily have it. The only reason they don't is because Rito lazy.

Also quick fact, not all wards share the same vision range

Trinket wards for instance grant more vision than Control wards

I've added a visual aid to explain what I'm suggesting.
