If Riot want to switch Rengar from an assassin to a bruiser/tank...

Why are they still only promoting assassin Rengar with the default item set ?

I mean with the ult + Q changes it seems obvious they want to make him more of a substain dps fighter, yet all the items recommended on him are for burst or to help him survive the long enought to kill one person. That's weird especially when Bruiser Rengar and Tankgar are actually better than Assassin Rengar since the changes.

I know a lot of people use custom item sets, but default sets can at least be usefull for the people who start to play a champion and don't know sh*t about his mechanics.

They never said they wanted to make him a bruiser, at least not that i recall. They just wanted to reduce his burst and give enemies more time to react.

I'm maybe wrong but the fact that Rengar was able to kill a ennemy as fast is for me the reason why assassin Rengar was working, because he don't have any AoE making him kinda useless in team fight and the fact he can't get out require him to be fed if he want to survive.

now since his nerf to his burst and his ult plus the buff to his substain damages more and more people are building him tanky, because his ult his a great engage tool making him work kinda like a Vi (aka stick to the ennemy carry butt and force the ennemy team to fight).

And it seems all the community would prefer if Rengar was actualy played like this, even pro player are playing him like this since his launch.

i still play him like an assassin, the fact that they made his E less reliable actually steered me away from the tank build i use to use.

It is not about them wanting him to become a bruiser, it is about item 3748 making new bruisers possible ( Fiora )

It allows certain champs to deal insane damage and still get more and more tanky, if you add armor pen and the AA reset + the super on-hit boost, + the basic AA reset of rengar, it is not crazy to think that HP bruiser rengar is more than viable.
