Should I Quit LoL?

I'm pretty sure that I don't belong playing this game. I put a bunch of time into trying to get better and trying to climb the ladder only to be shit on over and over. And over. And over again. All my friends barely play, yet they climb the ladder with ease. Am I just forever gonna be garbage? If so I want to save myself a portion of my life. I enjoy the game... when I win. When I lose its infuriating. It brings out the absolute worst in me when I lose. It takes everything I have in me to not type in chat.

A Great game would make you feel okay regardless of winning or losing .. winning isn't everything. you just need a chance to win and do your best. you have nothing to be ashamed about losing a game of League.

Have you ever thought about trying a different role? You know, back in the day when I was just stuck in silver all the time, I mained ADC. For a few seasons. I kept thinking top lane looked pretty easy. Champs looked easy, they were tankier so I would be less punished for mistakes, harder to gank, etc. So I made a smurf for top lane only. I got Gold in like 35 games. I just understood top lane and how to play most of the champs up there. I know you seem to like mid, but maybe trying to be a 1v5 Katarina mid-lane player just isn't for you. Or any of those Assassin-type midlaners.

Maybe you are better off JG, or Support, or Top.

See I know I would gain more elo if I just played top lane. http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=treedayban Look at those season 4 top lane win-rates. Hell, look at current Sion. 100%. But, I dont care about gaining elo as much as I care about having fun. And I have fun teamfighting on ADCs. Hell, right now I'm having fun playing fill every game. Which means like 60% support, 30% jg, 10% everything else. So I just play what I want.

So, maybe do some self-evaluation on why being a mid-lane player, or even Kat player, is holding you back. You know why ADC holds me back? I suck at laning in a 2v2. I also, have little idea of what to do most of the game, outside of teamfighting. I can admit these things. I have little agency in a 2v2. I can never push any sort of advantage like I can in a solo lane, or even as support. I have more lane agency as a support. I have more map pressure and awareness in every other role than ADC. Sometimes I find myself just wandering around, getting cs, following teammates, hoping for the best. While I'm on support making plays, tping as a top laner, etc. I have impact I created. I can even see this in BETTER ADCs I face, who seem to get more work done when I don't.

BUT, I like playing ADC. I enjoy the mechanical aspect of it, so I continue to main it, despite me hurting myself LP-wise. I could just go play Sion top or whatnot and gain elo.

I really enjoy Kat due to her mechanical aspects and outplay potential. It just feels bad when a game stretches out too long because I failed to close it out and their 0/6 garen wins out of sheer tankyness and scaling. Perhaps the root of my issue is that playing assassins in low ELO isn't very realistic. The longer games stretch the tougher it gets. Maybe I have to either learn how to close a game, or how to order my team around enough to get them to close the game. I would like to play mid however. I find its the one position that I can consistently enjoy playing over and over. JG and ADC start to become a grind after a while...

Nah..just keep playing thats what ranked is.. dont envy your friends.. ive played since season 3 and ive been gold since and i dont play alot of ranked games.. But ranked is mostly about the grind.. you have to grind games hard to climb... and yes your gonig to get stomped over and over again.. at times everyone is... Someones gotta win.. someones gotta lose... and as Destructo dave had said.. maybe its the role or champion.. also try to increase your game knowledge

If you already tried to make a big pause from game, and it didn't help ,then yes you may want to quit. The main issue I assume is your ineffective methods of improvement. Even bad player by nature (e.g me) can climb, if he uses right methods of improvement. If you truly strive for improvement and climbing, wins and loses are nothing but an opportunity for mistakes analysis and win conditions. If you don't feel like that, then you definitely didn't try to improve enough. But again, if you don't feel like enjoying the game: don't waste too much time on what you don't like.

The game requires a friend that is willing to take an arrow to the knee to get you into it.

If you don't play with a friend that tries to help you out in the game both In-game and out-of-game then this game will just be hell for you. I played with an Ashe main who fed every other game, and we lost most of those games. A lot of my friends didn't want to play with them because of how down right awful they were at the game.

Regardless though, I still played with the person. I guess the game has better value in friends than the actual game itself . . .

As long as you're not first timing random stuff in ranked, your teams aren't going to suffer for it because your MMR is reflective. Moreover, you play rather high skill cap champs and that's probably your biggest issue. Playing those optimally is hard and that means you're not able to utilize the picks well enough to climb since a lot of their kit is locked out due to your ability not being there yet. The game is hard enough without having to worry about complicated kits.
