Master Yi in low elo!

I know this post will get downvoted but ill make it either way.

Master Yi in low elo is way too strong and this isn't the run of the mill low elo player saying that something is OP because he doesn't know better.

He snowballs really fast and he deals way too much true damage which makes any tank or tank items useless against him.

I understand that the way to deal with Yi is to hard cc him.

However the problem with that is that:

  • One hard cc is often not enough you need at least two.
  • Not every team is going to have multiple hard cc abilities.
  • And even if your team has multiple hard cc abilities you're in low elo soloq having your team be coordinated enough to autofocus Yi at the right time so that they don't end up wasting their only way of stopping him is next to impossible.
    • Lets also not forget that he isn't the only person on the enemy team.

At this point your saying: "Well why don't you just use your one ban on Yi?" My answer to that is that i can't always ban him. Whether it's because my jungler highlighted him or because i want to ban someone who i don't want to end up laning against.

Anyway thanks for reading and can't wait to see what you guys will say, inb4 learn to play and get good.

Someone downvoted you, but I support this. It's simply true, i'm silver 3 jung main, and I, every. single. game. ban master yi. It's not like i don't know how to face him.. i mean.. just pick rammus, amumu or whatever and YOU are fine. The problem are your team mates, if master yi happens to pick 1-2 kill early he will shred anyone except you in the team. Late game he's like 2 ADC amount of dps, and in this elo no one know how to play safe against him, i'm surprised he has a so neutral win rate ( something like 50% ) even in silver, 'cause in my games he ALWAYS carry the game while i can only watch him while he breaks everything.

I have a few problems with this. Yeah, Yi is strong at low elo. Just that type of champion, but he's far from TOO strong. "This isnt the run of the mill low elo player saying that something is OP because he doesn't know any better". Well, not to be rude, what makes this true? From outside perspective, you have many many many games and have a sub 50 win rate in Silver 5 and this post was made after a game you lost to a fed Yi while your Jungler went 1/9 (the Yi didn't even do the most damage). "He snowballs really fast" He really doesn't though. Most Junglers snowball because of the role, but Yi's items are so expensive and they're not snowball oriented (like Duskblade). He also has no cc of his own, meaning the only thing he's snowballing with is damage. "He deals way too much true damage which makes any tank or tank items useless against him" Well you're not wrong that once he has a few points in his E he does a lot of true damage that tanks wouldnt be able to beat him in a 1 v 1. But at that point in the game, tanks aren't supposed to be able to beat a dps fighter. Tank items are also still very very effective against him, especially the ones with attack speed slows. You don't need to be so tanky he can't hurt you, you just need enough defensive that he doesnt one shot you. So many champions have cc it's pretty easy to dedicate 1 or 2 to kill yi in a fight. Again, he has no cc of his own. The only thing he brings is high dps at melee range with no escape ability. That means when he goes, he goes all in and he's squishy enough that one cc is usually enough to kill him. He should be rewarded when he's able to freely hit your team and get kills because if he wasn't, he'd be useless.

yi there are many counters to him such as jax you dodge every thing he can throw at you

I completely agree. With high-skilled players, he may be close to useless, with several counter-picks, but against lower skill levels, Master Yi is far too strong. Every game I play with lower-skill level friends, we get snowballed by Master Yi, without question. His attacks allow him to go invisible while dealing damage. If his ability fails, he then runs away at full speed, and thus no one can attack him or lock him down. He then goes and heals off-screen, and jumps right back at you with the invisible+damage attack. It is becoming too tilting, with many ready to stop playing this game. It is not fun to play against such a character.

Please reduce the damage he outputs using the invisible+attack ability that bounces between five thousand champions.

Master Yi is rank 16 in Iron/Bronze, and drops to 29th in Silver on win rate.

I get that he may be frustrating when fed, but there are certainly stronger picks. In North America he's 25->9 then drops to 39th by Silver. By the time you get to Diamond he's down to 88th place. As you near the top ranks he doesn't show up as after dropping to 37.5% win rate if you go higher he has a literal 0 game pick rate.

So not only can he barely scratch the top 10 at his peak and only in NA at low ranks, but he's devastatingly weak at high ones. He's fine.

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what ranks to target since you're hiding on an inactive account.

P.S. I'm at high silver, even by then I consider him trash and would never ban him. If I even suspect the enemy will pick him (Jax bans usually out him) I'll just counterpick him before he's picked or take him for the luls if I get first pick.

Heck, Elise is pretty weak right now, but if the enemy picks Yi you get a free opportunity to play a less played champ, because she absolutely wrecks him.

Tanks in general aren't too useful for winning games in lower mmr, exception being Amumu because he does a ton of damage in teamfights.

Most adcs are very team dependent for most of the game, so I would avoid them as well.

I would suggest playing a fighter, assassin, or mage as most of them can easily handle Yi early-mid game.
