Is the new champion pointless?

I logged onto my game yesterday and I saw that they were making a new champion. I clicked the link and I looked at the new champion. Her (although it looks like it has no gender) name is Rek'Sai. When I was looking her stuff I was impressed by her move set, I was overall impressed exsept when I saw who she wan't good against.... She can be beat by Kalista . This is a last stitch effort to fix Kalista without buffing her up. What do you guys think. Is she good to have or is she just a waste of time?

What? Rek'Sai isn't about dueling enemies. Plus, her tunnels can act as a huge gap-closer and knock Kalista up with unburrow.

Rek'Sai looks more like an objectives champion, being capable to support her allies while having complete map control and vision over objectives without wards (Can see if the enemy is doing dragon/baron over the wall).

if you look at the info on this site, she supposedly struggles against Kalista
