Is Riot even trying to make Matchmaking feel fair?

Can someone please explain to me how a scenario like this is ever allowed to happen in Season 9 of League of Legends?

In what situation is it ever fair to put 3 smurfs on the same team in a ranked game (solo/duo queue) against 5 non smurfs? 2 of these players were duo queueing which is understandable, but how on Earth does any sort of algorithm decide that the game would be fair to place the third smurf on the same team as them basically deciding the game as soon as the lobby was created.

Not to mention how our top laner was autofilled and being placed against a 72% win rate Irelia smurf, highlighting one of the biggest issues of Autofill that still hasn't been addressed.

Games like these happen far too frequently and really makes wanting to play this game difficult.
