Why do people still ban Zed? Why do people hate Zed?

Because getting zoned off the minion wave by an AD melee assassin as a mage sucks.
Because he's generally not fun to play against
Manaless, too much poke, too mobile, scales like a god thanks to his W passive even without too much AD. There is a reason why Talon is trash compared to him - no free stats, no way of juking like Zed, mana problems, can't do anything vs tanks. Zed can duel and outplay tanks and bruisers.
Because people whine about the dumbest things.

Because when he can kill you there generally nothing, nothing you can do against it other than Zhonya or GA to escape the ult. by the time those finishes, his cd and energy will be back up to do a point blank combo that will still be able to kill you.
Well why do (some) people ban Blitz? Not because he's strong, but because they don't want to play against him.
Because usually only 1 or 2 players can build an hourglass and he can 100-0 any other non tank, without any chance of counter play.
I don't hate Zed.
I hate the fact he can get
, which removes the possibility to kill him by most mages, unless he severely fucks up, while giving him damage, when I'm forced to buy over twice as an expensive item to MAYBE survive once every 2 minutes, which doesn't provide good stats outside the active anyway.
That's what I hate.
If it'd give no offensive stats from it, I'd be completely fine with Zed.
I actually still don't understand the Zed bans. He has a pretty high skill cap, a low win rate, and with the changes to
and it being cheaper, I think he is manageable.
If anything of the assassin's, I think he is relatively healthy.
ADCs do ban him often because of the changes to qss, but in general I think they have tweaked him enough since last fall so that he is reasonable.
Edit: I have a tendency to ban champions that see high play rates or win rates. I started banning Zed last fall before he was considered over powered because. I simply noticed he had an extremely high play rate. Tank Ekko had a really high win rate so I started banning him.
At the moment I think the best bans are
and
. All these champions have really high play rates and win rates. The only one on the list that is my default ban is blitz. I put him on the list because I think he is one of the few champions of the game that completely alters how your team plays. The bottom lane can turn into a disaster from his grabs and he alters teamfights significantly if he lands a pick.
Because if you're someone who doesn't benefit much from hourglass, there's no counter play.
because I hate his STUPID FACE
Just way too slippery and able to delete too many champs if they don't have a zhonyas. Plus a champ with hardly any resource problems who can do well both in lane and outside lane with insane mobility will always be anti fun for whoever is facing them.
because it's not fun to play against a manaless assassin that can also poke you from 900-1600(!!) range.
I don't mind his ability to reliably get in close and do tons of damage. He's an assassin. That's fine. It's just his obscene range. An assassin should not have 1k+ range. Also his ridiculously easy escapes. It makes him really annoying to face.
we hate zed!
Zed is so fcking OP champ!
But unstopabble champ ever
for this rework garen!!!!
kills you multiple time with his OP skills before one can manage to get Zhonyas.
He's not overpowered, but a Zed in the right hands can dominate a game.
He's just annoying. Even though you'll probably (statistically) win against him, it's usually not fun anyway.
Same with Malzahar... Why are people still banning my freaking champion? His winrate sunk like a rock after the last nerf. Which I was totally fine with, because I thought it'd mean I'd get to play my freaking champion :'(
(I have gotten to play Malz, but he's still banned strangely often)
