FULL Tank Zed Top Lane: Why, The Results, And Why You Should Give It A Try

So to start off, I know i'm silver, but I do main zed, so I somewhat know how he works. This build will probably not go as well as it would for someone who doesn't play Zed often. I choose top lane because i felt that a tanky Zed would go better in more of a bruiser/tank lane.

Before i even go on i feel i should say

1. This is not a post about how Zed is overpowered. (He is in a good spot where he is)
2. I am not saying this is better than AD Zed (it by far is not)
3. PLAY THIS IN NORMALS NOT RANKED

So why Zed top? I decided to play Zed top after i had commented on this post http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/memes/KzO9MM4R-give-terrible-advice-about-playing-your-main?comment=0014000000000000 Someone asked me to legit try this build in a game, so i agreed.

Landing Phase: During landing phase (and the rest of the game) Farming with Zed feels a lot more weird than usual. As well as poke. Remember, this is FULL tank, so you will have 0 AD other than his base AD. You're going to have to farm like you would a tank.You won't be able to clear large waves, farm under tower well, or push the wave very fast. As long as you play somewhat passive and ward up, poking out your lane opponent is still something you can do with success.

Team Fighting: As long as you're farmed up decent, you should be able to team fight with some success. You still want to target your Death Mark on the carry, but instead of using your double Q, and E combo, then dashing out, you're going to want to stay in the middle of the fight and soak up some damage before you dash out with around 20% health. You're able to take around 25% of your targets health, soak up a lot of CC, and damage, and still escape. It feels different fighting but once you know how to fight as a tanky zed, it somewhat works.

What i built in order I like sunfire first because it can help you clear minions faster I started 2 armor items because i was up against a Darius You could build Ninja Tabi but i prefer these because of the tenacity it give you (helps in team fights) I was also considering a Thronmail for my final item

What I thought: Tank Zed is definitely fun and honestly weird and enjoyable to see soaking up damage and CC during team fights. It was not even close to as strong to regular AD Zed but it was a lot stronger than i had expected. I recommend trying this at least once for anyone who knows what there doing with Zed (Even if you want to add in an AD item such as or ). i can definitely see this going terribly wrong for someone who doesn't understand Zed.

TL;DR Surprisingly strong and fun Not even close to as good as AD Zed DON'T TRY THIS IN RANKED

Edit: Okay i guess 50+ games isnt maining a champion, but the pont is still there, if you don't know what you're doing with Zed then this probably wont work.
