Who even asked for these Karma nerfs/buffs? Will we get something done about a champ that needs it?

So I have been a Karma main for a while. I wake up, make myself breakfast, check my computer.. aaaaand I see stuff about Karma. Being the dedicated Karma main that I am, I looked at them, and these are my thoughts on them. Passive - Small changes.. don't seem to be noticeable. Q - unchanged, I like that. W - can now be cast on monsters -- This is going to be a nerf to mid and top Karma, because if you misclick, you will hit a minion (or is it just jungle monsters?). Anyways, this is a HUGE buff to jungle Karma, which was already pretty good, but now it's going to be just plain op. RW - Riot seems to really want Karma to just become a support.. seriously? They removed the healing and extra damage on her W.. They made it way more similar to old Karma's W. Very unhappy with this change. E - Lowered mana cost.. I'm cool with that. But they nerfed the shield amount? It's already a pretty small shield.. what was the point of this.. RE - Removed the damage component.. balance team really really likes Karma support, huh? Increases primary target's shield.. this is.. interesting..

The point of this post: Why was Karma buffed/nerfed? She was a totally fine, balanced, viable champion. I am not a fan at all of these changes. They sound good on paper, but once she starts getting played more, everyone is going to whine about how broken she is. Then, Riot will pull some huge nerfs on her or something, and she will go back to shit-tier pre-rework Karma. Riot, why did you do this? Nobody was asking for it. Why don't you nerf, say, oh, broken-ass Nidalee? Or any other OP champs that actually need work on them? I am happy about jungle Karma becoming a thing now, but overall, VERY unhappy about these unnecessary changes.

"Monsters" usually refers to jungle monsters.

RW is still going to heal you for 20% of the damage you deal during the tether + root. You are probably not going to heal as much as you would currently when low health, but you will still heal a nice amount. The heal is dependent on damage so you are potentially able to heal as much when near full health than when nearly dead. Also +10% damage bonus for tether/root duration which applies to all damage (items, spells, team mates...).

Nerfed the shield value by 40 BUT reduced the cooldown from 10 to 6 sec at rank 5. That's 3.6 sec cd at max cdr on a 4 second lasting shield! The mantra effect is going to be sweet. Max rank shield + mantra = 410(+80% AP) shield. That is going to be the strongest single target shield in the game. And it still has a movement speed buff.

Solo lane Karma is not going to die off. You can still heal yourself with RW AND you don't have to be low health to do so. RQ is still a very potent damage tool. Mantra shield is going to be a great against high burst champions like Zed. Overall though she is more team oriented champion so it's not wise to play the whole game alone if you play her. You can still do that if you take care of your positioning and land mantra Q.

The passive change is more effective than you think. 3.5 sec reduced ult cd per spell hit on enemy champion. Hit all five enemies with mantra Q (both times) and you will reduce mantra cd by 35 seconds instead of the previous 20 seconds. HUGE CHANGE! Or rather you need to only hit 3 people with both parts of mantra Q to get the same effects as now when you hit five people.

20% damage healed to allies damaging + 10% increased damage and they are now probably standing still? Wanna know who'd go great with that? Swain who also can increase his damage by 20% and can now heal off his other abilities if her Tether changes go through. Plus a follow up snare to people who do get tethered.

Swain x Karma: I ship it

I really really dislike the W changes. Yeah, it's cool to have this focus fire debuff and all, but RW is something I use when I want to heal myself up, it's my only real survival tool, it's what I use to stay in the game.

And they cut the healing potential in more than half.

Granted, it'll be more effective when I'm not injured enough to need it...

But that's not when the healing is necessary.
