Please don't buff bard

Please Riot, for the sake of all things holy don't buff Bard. While these buffs are nothing astronomical (+.1 AP ratio on base heal and +.15 AP ratio on max heal; Meep spawn down to 8 from 10), I feel like they are going to push him just over the edge into the "Flavor of the Moment" realm, a place where I really don't want my main to be. Also, to me at least, this buff feels far more targeted towards solo-lane bard, a place where historically riot has nerfed supports for being good in (Sorry Lulu, Janna, Soraka, Sona, Ect.) Bard is already viable in top and mid (which doesn't stop me from playing him ADC or jungle... but I digress) and with the added sustain and more readily available poke from this buff, might even actually become Gasp good?

In anycase, I really don't want Bard to become a FoTM champion who I can't go a single game without, and I also don't want him to be nerfed because of people picking him up and nobody knowing how to play against him.

I will agree that his HP packs have been really weak for a long time, specifically in the late game. However if the second statement is true, im worried. The whole point of bard is that he is a wandering support. To try and tone down the wandering aspect while I guess makes him better in botlane and as a support in general, also takes away from his core playstyle a bit which is kinda upsetting.

You know, in retrospect, while I do not agree with these buffs, I can see where your reasoning is coming from. Learning when and how to roam with bard is a tricky thing, and really until you learn your "range" that you can leave botlane, when you can roam at all, and how to effectively use portals, your ADC does feel left alone a lot. I've been playing bard since release so I guess I kind of forgot how easy it was to screw over your ADC by leaving at untimely times.

Also, if this is the reason for meeps spawning quicker, it would also explain the HP pack buff, so that bard can leave his ADC (Actual) sustain while they are alone.

Bard is never going to be FotM. Come on now. No dashes or knockups and no #L #C #S #big #plays.

FOTM champs are ones that give you a big reward for little effort, usually while looking cool. Release Ekko was a good example.

Bard would only be FotM if they buffed his damage to insanity.

Put yourself in the mindset of someone who usually plays the FotM. Youre trying a champ, you just used all your abilities, and the guy is at half hp. Man this champ is shit, does no damage, I'm picking yasuo next game.

I wouldn't worry about Bard being popular. His playrate would be more affected by buffs to his troll factor than buffs to his actual power

You know, you're mostly right. When I think FOTM champion, I think strong busty assassin types. Really the only FOTM champion who would be comparable to bard is Thresh, and maybe Tahm Kench.

Bard needs help, he's clearly outclassed early. Not buffing him because he might become popular isn't a good reason. But he's not the type to become FotM unless they overbuff him.
