Can you get demoted at Bronze/Silver/Gold/Plat/Diamond 5 WHEN YOU LOSE?
Can you get demoted at Bronze/Silver/Gold/Plat/Diamond 5 WHEN YOU LOSE? Last season you don't get demoted unless decay. Has this changed? Please help.

You can't get demoted at Bronze 5 since theres no where to be demoted to.
You can get demoted at silver 5 to bronze 1 when you lose if you have a bronze 5 mmr. (This was true in previous seasons as well.)
Similarly you can get demoted to silver 1 from gold 5 if you have a silver 5 MMR, gold 1 from plat 5 if you have a gold 5 MMR, and so on. The need to be down a full tier's worth of MMR means in the vast majority of cases people won't be able to be demoted, with like a 10 game loss streak needed in many cases, but it is possible (and pretty much always has been).
Decay is also a thing for plat/diamond/master/challenger (below that doesn't decay anymore), but since you don't lose MMR when you decay, those people can often quickly recover their old ranks, while those demoted tiers due to their MMR being awful would likely find they're only gaining ~10 LP for wins and losing 20+, and so would find climbing back quite difficult if they're not really cut out for that level of play (which they probably aren't if they had their MMR fall so far that they were demoted).
its based on your MMR. A player ranging in gold 5 0LP will stay gold 5 UNTIL his/her MMR has fallen below a gold level (1500 I think) If you loose too many games at 0LP B/S/G/P/D5, you will get demoted into the tier below.
If you are demoted, you can climb back up and you will get one free win for your promotional matches, this only applies to players gold 1 or below.
