Thresh lantern

I know there's a lot of hate on the boards about thresh currently so this post will probably get downvoted. But am I the only one who thinks its stupid that you can counterplay an ability by placing a ward on it or standing on it? Maybe I'm bias cuz I only play thresh. But seriously I feel like that makes no sense. That's like if you stand in a bush Ahri's charm doesn't work on you or something. Or if you drop a ward where ryze is ulting to it cancels the ability.

Anybody else?
